Obama wants Livni as premier 'cos he knows as opposed to Netanyahu she will do anything he tells her and he wants to go down in history as the president who solved the Middle East Crisis even if it means throwing Israel under the bus cos that's the easiest way to do it. The Jews will whine and cry but at the end of the day they will cave in as they always do and Obamessiah will have proved himself the true messiah and get in in 2012 on a landslide. |

20 May, 2011 - 12:40 Rate this: 0 points | What is it the Israelis say about Netanyahu? Hu lachitz (he's easily pressured). To keep his derrière on his seat, he'll do anything, including running to livni to help him out of a hole (and that means accepting the inevitable). |

20 May, 2011 - 13:30 Rate this: 0 points | Joe don't be such a self hater. Everytime I refer to Israel as us, you feel a need to pick up on it. Being a Jew, I have an attachment to the state of Israel and class it as my homeland, and therefore it is mine, and subsequently the words US and OURS are appropriate. Jews like you have been around for centuries, you realise that people don't like us, so instead of accepting that it is because this hatred is deep rooted in their genes, you try to change the way you think and change what you say just to fit in. It’s pathetic, and I’m glad we have strong leaders like Bibi who does what’s right for us, even if it gets up people's noses. |

But if you feel such an attachment, why aren't you there? Hell, you might even get a game with Israel's very own 1970s Millwall, betar Jerusalem. |
20 May, 2011 - 13:45 Rate this: 0 points | Self loathing is a stupid and meaningless term invented by those, mainly in the diaspora, for whom Israel is the be all and end all of their Judaism. Our religion and peoplehood go far deeper than that. Surely they teach you that at SOAS. |
20 May, 2011 - 13:51 Rate this: 0 points | Actually I do have an Israeli passport, and visit twice a year, but that is besides the point. I live in the UK because all my family is here, and as a resident of this country, I am respectful towards it and try to act in it's best interestes. However, this is not my homeland, that honour goes to Israel, and therefore i have a keen interest in ensuring that it has a safe existence. Simples. I think you would have made an ideal Jewish policeman in the Warsaw Ghetto. |

"Jews like you have been around for centuries, you realise that people don't like us, so instead of accepting that it is because this hatred is deep rooted in their genes, you try to change the way you think and change what you say just to fit in." I'd like to add that changing the way you think to please your enemies only emboldens them, because they see you as a patsy. I don't see any Arab leaders professing a genuine change of heart. The so called "Arab Spring" phrase tossed around by the media is a misnomer. It's more like an Arab Winter. |
20 May, 2011 - 14:22 Rate this: 0 points | Funnily enough, while I was tapping out my last response I had Korin Alal's excellent Kvassim (Sheep) playing in the background. Pretty much sums up Netanyahus ventriloquist dummies. |
20 May, 2011 - 14:46 Rate this: 0 points | You don't need to mention the Nazis alone. There are many examples. There were German Jews who stopped speaking yiddish and entered the arts and sciences clamoring for acceptance, some of whom converted to Lutheranism. There were Jews who were fooled by Yasir Arafat; they were so sure he was on the level. I knew such a Jew. The world's foremost expert on the Middle East, Bernard Lewis, I think illustrates why the the Arab world is in its present condition in "What Went Wrong?: The Clash Between Islam and Modernity in the Middle East [Paperback]". http://www.amazon.com/What-Went-Wrong-Between-Modernity/dp/0060516054 |
20 May, 2011 - 14:56 Rate this: 0 points | Unfortunately Steven, these Jews are often used by our enemies to justify their views. How many times do we see hostile entities use the words of people like Norman Finkelstein and Ilan Pappe to defend and rationalise their blatant hatred for the Jews; sorry I meant ZIONIST!! lol Disloyalty is often a characteristic of Human nature, it happened in apartheid South Africa, and Jews are no exception. You need only look at J Street and people like Joe to see this. |
20 May, 2011 - 15:02 Rate this: 0 points | Robert are you bemoaning the fact that there were anti apartheid whites in South Africa ? That they were therefore disloyal? How interesting. I may of course be misunderstanding you, in which case I apologise. |
20 May, 2011 - 15:05 Rate this: 0 points | Jon, I think you damn well know you were misunderstanding me. This is a forum for adults, now go play and leave the adults to get on with it. |
20 May, 2011 - 15:25 Rate this: 0 points | For your benefit, what I meant, which was very obvious, was that there were black people who betrayed their own people during the apartheid era, and this is something that has happened throughout history. By the way, I’m not one for personal attacks, but you, Iris and Simoneq never have anything relevant to say. Although I rarely agree with Joe, he actually has substance to his argument, you lot just occupy space, and have proven time and time again that your knowledge of the situation is minimal to say the least. |
