15 August, 2011 - 15:51 Rate this: 0 points | As the war turned against the Nazis The Jewish Agency, mindful of the need to save as many Balkan Jews as possible, proposed that some fight hardened Palestinian Jews be parachuted into the region. There they would organise Jewish resistance, aid in the recruitment of Jews into the partisan militias, and establish centres of rescue. The British were very interested in this idea since they realised that Jews like this would make excellent undercover intelligence agents. However, the delightful Jew loving Mr Churchill insisted that before British help could be forthcoming, it had to be explicitly agreed that INTELLIGENCE GATHERING USEFUL TO THE BRITISH WAR EFFORT MUST TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER THE RESCUING OF THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF BALKAN JEWS THAT WERE IN DIRE AND IMMEDIATE MORTAL DANGER. In the event 32 Palestinian Jews were parachuted into the Balkans during 1944. Eight were killed. Others eventually escaped after enduring unimaginable Nazi torture. Among them was Hannah Senesch, who had come to Palestine from Hungary aged 18, and now aged 23, volunteered to return to Hungary to help organise a Jewish underground railroad. Hannah was executed by the Nazis on November 6 1944. We can only hope that Mr Churchill got his intelligence and it kept him warm for a few nights. |

15 August, 2011 - 18:58 Rate this: 0 points | Steven hate is a very big word. Lets just say I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw Jonathan Hoffman. And just in case you STILL don't get it. |
16 August, 2011 - 10:00 Rate this: 0 points | Mary, I suggest you read Martin Gilbert's work, "Churchill and the Jews", which rather undermines your sad attempt at denigrating a man who saved this country from Nazi tyranny. By the way, as an anarchist, do you condemn the riots of last week? |
16 August, 2011 - 10:01 Rate this: 0 points | The vilification of Jonathan Hoffman on these blogs is a disgrace. The JC would not tolerate such ad hom attacks, over such a period of time, on anyone else. |
