last week Roger Waters - ex of Pink Floyd, announced his intention to promote the BDS movement.
This week The congress of the Electrician and IT workers union in Norway unanimously voted in favor of a resolution calling for boycott of Israeli goods, a ban on Norwegian arms trade with the Israeli military, and end to all research cooperation.
Also, a motion to Boycott Isreal was overwhelmingly passed at the Edinburgh University Student's Association earlier this week. Similar motions ahve been passed at Manchester, Sussex and SOAS.
Slowly but surely the movement grows.

18 March, 2011 - 15:23 Rate this: 3 points | "Slowly but surely the movement grows" Is that so Lukus? to be fair i have no time for Roger Waters. Anyone who bring his children/step children up to deface a memorial dedicated to British war heroes should not be telling others what their moral obligation is. This guy is a low life. As for the Norwegian IT workers union. Come again?!? Why do you think anyone would be bothered if this movement was to boycott Israel? I actually have no idea what they do, and as the Scandinavians have never been fond of Jews, it's not like I’m surprised, but more importantly, I don't think anyone is remotely bothered. BTW, I just tried to book a hotel in TA for Pesach, and guess what?! everywhere is fully booked so I don't think the BDS is having quite the affect you lefties hoped it might. Add to this the trillion feet of cubic gas Israel has just discovered off its shores, I think it’s ok to say things aren’t looking all that bad for the tiny country representative of the Jooze. Thanks for your concern though Lukus. Now how about you leave the Jews alone and go play with the racists at the Guardian and take that parasite simoneq with you. MOT |
18 March, 2011 - 15:43 Rate this: 2 points | Lucas and others I look forward to the day you and the rest of the BDS hate brigade demonstrate the courage of your convictions and dispense with your IT, Mobile Phones and the countless other products and services of Israel which you use every day. After all any imbecile can give up his 5 portions of fruit a day . Actually what Im really looking forward to is the day that Israel develops the technology to identify you Mamzers and zap your connections . Then again maybe they are already there having a good look around as the Iranian WMD programme found to their cost. Stuxnet is just the beginning ! |
18 March, 2011 - 15:46 Rate this: -3 points | so what if TA hotels are full. he temperature there today is 26c and the sun shines. Better than winter in northern Europe! What about the 1.7 million people who watched the great tv film on Channel 4 "The Promise" Don't you think that most of those viewers feel sympathy with The Palestinians after having seen the series? Doesn't that say something about how opinion has shifted recently? |
18 March, 2011 - 15:48 Rate this: 2 points | What about? |
18 March, 2011 - 15:52 Rate this: 2 points | If simoneq thinks Channel 4 is a credible media channel, he/she is even more deluded than I thought. Any media channel that can give "I'm-a-mad-dinnerjacket" of Iran air-time to preach his Christmas (hate) message cannont be considered a serious media channel. |
18 March, 2011 - 16:02 Rate this: 2 points | Simoneq, Harry Potter has been watched by tens of millions of people but it doesn't mean that they now think wizards are real. If your facts and figures for your arguments stem from what you saw in "the promise" then your even more pathetic then I thought. I mean are you for real with a comment like that in a debate taking place between ADULTS? Have a word with yourself luv |

18 March, 2011 - 17:28 Rate this: 2 points | It's always hilarious to see haters like Lukus and Simoneq, in their lonely bedsits, spouting off this nonsense - and choking on their bile when they see how well Israel is doing. |
18 March, 2011 - 17:39 Rate this: -2 points | Snoddy your comments are read by 6 people and parhaps their goldfish too. Israel is not an island and deeply needs the ouside world. Opinion as changed massively on Israel in recent years. This same world is demanding Israel change. It will |
21 March, 2011 - 13:32 Rate this: 0 points | Just so you know, every time I see one of these posts I buy another album from an Israeli artist. Israel has one of the best music scenes in the world at the moment (in my opinion), much of it available on iTunes! (go on, boycott Apple too!) I can particularly recommend "Boom Pam" who are my new favourite band: |
21 March, 2011 - 16:41 Rate this: 0 points | The only Boom Pam I remember is a very old song by Trifunas. |

The JC should not be giving web space to anti-semites that promote BDS - this can be left to The Guardian.
