Spot on points Mary

What I want to know is...

How is it that someone ( who happens to be an Arab ), whose parents and generations before them, who fled Haifa in a war situation, have less right to live in Haifa then some American or Russian( who happens to be Jewish ),and whose only claimed connection is that thousands of years ago some people of vaguely similar ethnicity lived around there ?

Each and every one of us is responsible for our own destiny through the decisions we make .
The Palestinians are no different . Had they accepted the UN partition plan in 1947 instead of launching an existential war on the newly declared state of Israel , they would have been celebrating the birth of their own state . Their so called naqba is one of their own making . That was their choice and one that they must live with . Many nations have been displaced through war . India and Pakistan to name but two . People move on and their descendants make their lives where their parents have settled .
There may be a scintilla of sympathy for Palestine had Israel started the 48 war of independence . They were not .
By what act of arrogance do you demand that the slate be wiped clean and all now return to the original starting blocks having airbrushed the reason and context for the current Palestinian status . This especially bearing in mind Palestinian refusal to accept Israels very legitimacy and right to exist as an independent Jewish majority nation state .
You and the many like you perpetuate the myth of Palestinian naqba and in so doing maintain Palestinian self delusion that the world owes them a living and that all their travails are down to Israel .
You should be ashamed of yourselves !

Having got that off your chest, would you like to take a punt answering the question?

Yes - I can. They are part of a group which tried to commit genocide against another group. They lost this war, which they started, and fled. They still harbour desires to destroy the Jewish state. Why should they be allowed to come and live there?

Perhaps, Carslake, you could ask why no Jew would be allowed to live in territory administered by the Palestinians, or why the hundreds of thousands of Jews who were expelled from Arab nations be allowed to go back to live in those nations?

Don't tax your brain too much.

Perhaps Ben F could have a go at answering that?
