"Sir Gerald Kaufman, a Labour MP, has apologised after exclaiming ''here we are, the Jews again'' when a fellow Labour MP stood up in the House of Commons."
If his constituency party in Manchester Gorton had any decency they would dump the sad old ***
But of course they do not.
Kaufman tried to claim £8865 for his TV ... Plus £1800 for a rug...
Plus for months he submitted a claim of £245 every month for "odd jobs". The maximum an MP could claim without receipts for odd jobs was £250 per month.
And his constituents did not bat an eyelid!

31 March, 2011 - 09:59 Rate this: 1 point | The antique gentleman is incorrigible, Jonathan. More to be pitied than reviled, perhaps. |
31 March, 2011 - 10:05 Rate this: 1 point | http://archbishop-cranmer.blogspot.com/ "Gerald Kaufman’s comment appalls not only because it evidences a bigotry which will aggrieve many Jews, but because it is blatantly anti-Semitic and disgusts Gentiles as well." Here, here. Kaufman is a disgusting obscenity. A cherem is way overdue. |
31 March, 2011 - 10:07 Rate this: -2 points | Cherem? What do you think this is, Jonathan, 16th-century Poland? Boycott the boycotters!!! |
31 March, 2011 - 10:10 Rate this: 1 point | Great Archbishop Cranmer post - thanks for linking, Jonathan! |
31 March, 2011 - 10:23 Rate this: -2 points | Glad to see the title of this thread has been toned down. |
31 March, 2011 - 10:24 Rate this: -4 points | I have referred this piece of ordure to the All Party Parliamentary Committee on Antisemitism |

31 March, 2011 - 10:39 Rate this: -3 points | BMacairt, he's used plenty of other epithets, some of them quite bigoted. So he wot lives in a glass house had better think about walking around naked. |
31 March, 2011 - 11:42 Rate this: 2 points | Kaufman naked? |
31 March, 2011 - 11:50 Rate this: -2 points | Jonathan's the one in the glass house, yvetta. He's the one who should beware about prancing about in the altogether. |
31 March, 2011 - 11:53 Rate this: 1 point | "he's used plenty of other epithets, some of them quite bigoted" Enough cyberbullying. Please back your claim with evidence. Put up or shut up - in other words, retract if yiou cannot document your claim. |
31 March, 2011 - 11:59 Rate this: -1 points | What did you call Bruce Levy? And how about those you called theobald Jews? |
31 March, 2011 - 12:08 Rate this: -1 points | There must also have been a reason why you were sin-binned by the international division. That really takes some doing. Cyber bullying? No, this is an open debate site. |
31 March, 2011 - 13:12 Rate this: 1 point | Yet again you fail to support your allegations. You're a joke. |
31 March, 2011 - 13:34 Rate this: -1 points | Jonathan, what did you call Bruce Levy? How many people have you called "Theobald Jews". Why were you sin-binned by the International Division of the Board? There's a lot more, but that's all the proof that's needed. |
31 March, 2011 - 13:34 Rate this: 1 point | Mr Millis I would respectfully suggest you retire from this one unless you genuinely believe what Gerald Kaufman said, as crass as it was, is worth defending - I am sure there are more important discussions to be had. If people doubted it before Gerald Kaiufman has now outed himself as a Jewish anti-Semite, as he often says himself as a child of holocaust survivors he has shamed their memories. I am sorry to say no amount of apologies from him will undo it. |
31 March, 2011 - 13:43 Rate this: 2 points | I believe that what Kaufman said was crass, stupid and racist. But at least he had the common decency to apologise. But, as they say, ein adam nitpas be'et tzaro, if you know what I mean. |
31 March, 2011 - 14:05 Rate this: 1 point | "The common decency to apologise" sorry I think the decent thing to do would be to resign, the fact that he is or claims to be Jewish does not absolve him from an anti-Semitic comment which would have meant the instant withdrawal of the party Whip had he been a non-Jew. The fact that the whip has not been withdrawn seems to imply that some in the Labour Party are fearful of upsetting Jewish sensibilities by doing so - they need not be I for one would welcome it! |
31 March, 2011 - 14:12 Rate this: -1 points | He's getting on a bit, is Gerald -- I seem to remember something about his old age embarrassing his youth -- so it's quite likely he'll stand down at the next election. And who's to say he won't have the Whip withdrawn? Ed's out and about in Brum today, launching the local election campaign. The world doesn't revolve around Israel or Jews, you know. |
31 March, 2011 - 14:30 Rate this: 1 point | Seems to me that the attacker of fellow Jews is Kaufman but as usual it has been twisted and became a personal attack on Jonathan. Bit rich for JM to say "when you attack fellow Jews who don't agree with you" try reading the comments here to anyone that doesn't agree with him. Our "supine" leadership should have taken Kaufman to task years ago and before Joe Millis asks, yes Jonathan has even attended hostile meetings where Kaufman has been speaking. Jonathan was attacked verbally and threatened physically the small number of Zionists that went were intimidated but Jonathan was courageous and articulate. Didn't see you there Mr Millis? |
31 March, 2011 - 14:37 Rate this: -1 points | Because, Ms Clifford, I was merely suggesting to Jonathan that he wot lives in a glass house shouldn't walk around naked. He, too, has a history of being a bit, you know, rude and obnoxious. I'm sure his intentions are good, but it is off-putting. |
31 March, 2011 - 14:48 Rate this: 0 points | Yet again Millis aka T-Sam you fail to support your allegations. You're a joke |
31 March, 2011 - 15:00 Rate this: 0 points | Jonathan, do you deny calling Bruce Levy "the Queen of Renegade Jews"? (There's video evidence that has been shown here often. You want it to be shown again?) Do you deny being sin-binned for a week from the Board's International Division for what its chairman described as "very vexating and upsetting" emails? Did you not say to him "one more time and you’ve had it”? According to the Benedictine monk Thomas of Monmouth in his The Life and Miracles of St. William of Norwich (1173), it was an apostate Jew, a certain Theobald, who, swore that Jews had killed twelve-year old William, a tanner’s apprentice, to fulfill their “Passover blood ritual” in the fateful year of 1144—the first recorded such episode in a long line of murderous defamations. Have you not also verbally attacked a Holocaust survivor because he questioned Israel's policies. You even had the audacity to call him a dancing bear. |

I wonder if he should be dumped permanently Jonathan. Or perhaps a weeks suspension would suffice. They still do week suspensions don't they ?
