Mr Millis I would respectfully suggest you retire from this one unless you genuinely believe what Gerald Kaufman said, as crass as it was, is worth defending - I am sure there are more important discussions to be had. If people doubted it before Gerald Kaiufman has now outed himself as a Jewish anti-Semite, as he often says himself as a child of holocaust survivors he has shamed their memories. I am sorry to say no amount of apologies from him will undo it.

"The common decency to apologise" sorry I think the decent thing to do would be to resign, the fact that he is or claims to be Jewish does not absolve him from an anti-Semitic comment which would have meant the instant withdrawal of the party Whip had he been a non-Jew. The fact that the whip has not been withdrawn seems to imply that some in the Labour Party are fearful of upsetting Jewish sensibilities by doing so - they need not be I for one would welcome it!
