Christina Patterson again ... (on The Promise)

I still haven't watched the Promise but CiF Watch has a good review here:

I have just watched The Promise on Channel 4's website. What a load of cobblers. I am not sure what Patterson was watching (apart from something to mirror her own prejudices), but there is no pretence of balance there. It isn't particularly well made, either.
Sure, the Palestinians have a narrative and yes, the Israelis behaved in ways that raise certain questions. But this was unrelenting.
Apart from the obvious "rich Israelis don't care about poor Palestinians", the writer seems to have alighted upon an Israeli family that represents, at best, 1 per cent of the whole. And from that to generalise?
I also found it somewhat disturbing that all the mono-dimensional Israeli characters had betrayed someone in their past. Not one Israeli with redeeming features?
But then again, it's the Indy, and how many readers does it have?

Well, yes, all very true; but it's Channel 4, and it has plenty of viewers who get brainwashed by its relentless 'anti-Israel' (hah!) propaganda.

Tim Llewellyn (ex-BBC) was singing its praises at the MEMO meeting last night (see my blog of earlier today)

Shameless lies about Israel are the order of the day among those laughingly known as 'the British educated classes'.

Matt how can you possibly say that a review of something you haven't seen is a a good review or a bad review ? What a dummy.

Yes over 1.5 million now exposed to some balanced history instead of the Israeli narrative. I hope it prompts many of them to find out more.

Only someone as profoundly ignorant (ever been outside the M25, Zair?) and as Jew-hating as Zair can call this disgraceful piece of anti-Israel lies and propaganda 'balanced'.

Zair's history of Israel comes from his own imagination, inspired by the Protocols, Mein Kampf and the Hamas Charter, so any compromise between that and the truth will of course make him happy.

This is the zair who backs Hamas, an Islamist anti-Semitic terror group, speaking of "balance" - and the simonson who speaks of "the Jewish world" - comparing Jews to the mass murderer and champion of the Palestinians, Ghadaffi. His last post, which has inexplicably been closed, yet remains on the site, was simply demented.

Perhaps if you spent less time harassing people that actually think Israel is quite a nice country, and took your nose out of those dull, repetitive, hateful single-issue websites and looked at the actual news once in a while you'd see what's going on.

zair is a nutcase. What can you say about someone who doesn't think the Arab world is currently in turmoil? Then again, this is someone who supports the amti-Semitic terror group Hamas - so his grasp on reality is not very secure.

The Arab countries' present turmoil and deaths do not bother any of the Nazi haters. These people love as much death as normal people love life. They do not care about any Arab death, 'Palestinians' included. They only care for fueling their hate of Israel and of Jews in general. When Israel cannot be blamed, why should they care?
