Speaking of Tisha be'Av...

Tisha be'Av falls this year next week - Monday sunset to Tuesday sunset - and it marks the destruction of the Second Temple and four other tragedies in Jewish history. It is said that the temple fell because of sinaat chinam - baseless hatred.
Today, the greatest purveyors of baseless hatred are the settlers and their supporters.
As Hegel said: "We learn from history that we never learn anything from history." And it appears that today's zealots haven't learned anything from history and are once again leading Jews down the path of sinaat chinaam and dispersal. We have to stop them before it's too late.

Oh Joe, it's you at it again. What about the use of derogatory terms like 'wanabee' 'ultra-orthodox' and all the other cliches in the song book. Of course it's never 'ultra-secular' or 'ultra-reform'.
Here's a good idea, what about dismantling the State of Israel altogether; that would make a lot of people happy, Arabs, Europeans, Americans etc. Then the ultra-lefties could pursue their wanabee dream of drinking coffee in Tel Aviv cafes; if the nice palies will allow them.
