As President Shimon Peres said: "Al Schwimmer was a man and a legend. He made a decisive contribution to Israel's defense and its aerial superiority."
I met him once - my father worked at IAI for 20 years - at his Savyon home. Despite all he achieved he was a very modest man. A mensch. Yihyeh zichro baruch

Just to think if he did today what he did in 1948 the USA would put him in jail and throw away the key like they have done with Jonathan Pollard

Pollard was a spy (and who knows who else his info helped) and is paying the justified price - Al was clever enough to get out.

millis, there have been several spies in the US working for countries which are actually hostile to the US, yet have not been given sentences like that meted out to Jonathan Pollard. You don't think the US has spies in Israel?

Don't be a jerk.
