Anti-Semitism down in France

Following the good news that the number of recorded anti-Semitic incidents in the UK fell last year by 33 per cent, France has seen a 50 per cent fall.
Christophe Bigot, the unfortunately named French Ambassador to Israel, told the Jerusalem Post: “[The cause for the decrease is] the police, the work of justice, the work of high school education and the vigilance of the media. It’s not only due to the relative calm in the region. There was the flotilla incident,” Israel’s raid on a Gaza-bound boat which left nine dead and dozens wounded in early 2010,” that could have provoked more attacks, but still we’ve seen a decrease.”

HAHAHA ! The cause for the decrease is the always more violent antisemitism that cause frightened people to under-report and unfrightened people to over-accept antisemitism. Taking the example of the flotilla where Israelis were attacked as a possible cause of an increase of antisemitism in France is at best ludicrous.
French antisemitic publications on the Internet have increased significantly but are hosted by countries who do not criminalise racism, such as USA.
"The cause for the decrease is the police"... That may be true! By rejecting antisemitism as the cause of an incident, the police can certainly decrease the reporting of antisemitism. Not the real thing of course.

If you break the thermometer, the temperature will not be so cold!
