Eighth plague hits Egypt

Here’s a mad pre-Pesach coincidence for you.

Reports are emerging of a plague of locusts descending on modern Egypt – a catastrophe that, as you most likely know, marked the eighth stage in the ten biblical plagues visited upon Egypt ahead of the Exodus.

Time magazine has the story:

"Folks in Giza, Egypt — home of the famous pyramids — are presently grappling with just such a plague, having to fend off upwards of 30 million locusts according to official estimates."

With less than three weeks to go until seder, it’s certainly ironic timing. As yet, however, there have been no reports of rivers of blood, frog invasions or bizarre spells of daytime darkness. If anyone hears of a bloke called Moses wandering about Egypt, though...

OK I will play. I don't habitually criticise the theft of Jewish property by Arab countries or the expulsion of Jews from Arab countries. I COULD if I chose to allocate the time, I choose not to. Where would it end ? I could end up spending every waking minute attempting to criticise every past and present wrong in the world and not get anything done about my particular personal interest...

That is the well being of West bank Palestinians particularly those of the Jordan valley. It is a PERSONAL concern, interest and commitment that I choose to devote time to.

So you can call it whatever you want and stick your Ottawa protocol where the sun doesn't shine.

So therefore so as not to be confused it is precisely that because you are a crass anti-Semite that you devote your time to spurious claims against Jews in that somehow they have stolen something that belongs to them and not some made up nation which never had sovereignty over any part of the Land of Israel and furthermore that you do not care a hang that a provable injustice to the Jews goes un-remedied.

Rich Armbach: I will criticise anyone and anything I please whenever I damn well please.( or not )

well, according to your next post, that's an empty promise
i] you don't have the time!
ii] you only support the west bank palestinians!

Rich Armbach: I don't habitually criticise the theft of Jewish property by Arab countries or the expulsion of Jews from Arab countries.

"habitually"?

you don't ever criticise the deprivation of property or the expulsions of your fellow-jews!

Rich Armbach: I don't habitually criticise the theft of Jewish property by Arab countries or the expulsion of Jews from Arab countries. I COULD if I chose to allocate the time, I choose not to. Where would it end ?

it would end with people saying you were fair, instead of racistly selective

it would end with jewish refugees and their descendants no longer wondering why you don't start with your fellow-jews

it would end with you behaving like everybody else, and not pleading a spurious lack of time

I pleaded lack of time ? When ? Where ?

I said I have not chosen to allocate the time to HABITUALLY criticise the expulsion of Jews from Arab lands, in the same way as I have not chosen to HABITUALLY criticise countless things. Where would it all end ? I would spend all day trying to criticise every past and present wrong in the world and have no time to spend on the issues that are of particular and PERSONAL concern to ME.

singling out one country for criticism when you don't criticise other countries for doing the same thing is obviously racism!

Really ?

Who says so ?
