The big difference

I chose not to go in even though I had a ticket . I knew precisely what was about to take place having faced up to these miscreants outside Ahava for almost 18 months . I was not about to have my evening spoilt . Instead I chose to stand with my fellow zionists outside in order to counter the paltry turn out by the hate filled BDS . We proudly displayed our flags and engaged with the many passers by who expressed their solidarity including a family of four from Pakistan who posed for photos in front of our flags . They told us how much they admired Israel . Yes you did read that correctly ! The PSC were separated from us by a police van but it did not stop one of their idiotic number " Seymour the private eye " from furtively snapping away in the vain hope that one of us were engaged in some illicit activity - maybe eating an ice cream . Silly Seymour but no luck . This assorted bunch of neo fascists were there to proclaim their hatred of israel and its replacement by a Palestinian state . Never mind the existential war and blood shed required . The difference was manifest . On our side , warmth and vibrancy , creativity and a bonhomie to those who were prepared to listen to a balanced narrative . On the other side , the nihilism of unabashed hatred and a common goal of destruction rather then a building of bridges.
A failed mentality which embraces the words and the deeds of proscribed terrorist entities. I recognize many among them . Ne'er do wells who obsess about israel even though there are far more urgent concerns within the Arab world for them to practice their so called human rights demands . This gives meaning to their vacuous lives , something to wake up to and motivate themselves with .
However I tell you this . Forget them . They are meaningless . They will always emerge from their bolt holes to spew their lies and malign propaganda . Focus instead on all that is good and decent within our midst . Celebrate our creativity , and our purpose , love of life and family . Most of all recognize our disproportionate contribution to every field of human endeavor for 3000 years and counting .
