Note to Mathew Harris

Thank you for your "note". I am intrigued as to why you call yourself "Advis3r" (not even "Adviser" or "Advisor", but "Advis3r"). As you are presumably an adult, I do not understand why your photo on this blog is a photo of a small child. I assume that this photo is either a picture of you when you were a child, or a picture of some child for whose welfare you are in some way responsible. I do not understand why you (or the JC) deem the use of such a photo to be appropriate on this website, but that's not my problem.

So I don't actually know who you are: your age, your gender or anything else about you, other than that you claim to be a settler living in the West Bank. I am prepared to accept that you are an adult and that you are telling the truth about where you live.

So, to turn to your note. You make the classic mistake of confusing opinions with facts. You and I have, presumably, been exposed to many of the same facts, but have responded differently to that exposure, in terms of the opinions that we have formed in response to the facts. Your mistake is to imagine that, because some of my opinions are different from some of your opinions, I am not fully aware of the facts - including the fact of the horrible murder of Koby Mandell.

The only proper response to that murder is a feeling of revulsion and anger. It is legitimate to feel those things towards the individuals who are accused of committing this horrible crime. It is not legitimate to extrapolate from that a generalised hatred of all Arab people (nor do I accuse you of feeling any such hatred).

So yes, of course, I desperately wish that a soldier, a cop or anyone else had been present to protect Koby Mandell when he was so brutally attacked.

That does not justify bringing up one's children to say, as this twelve-year-old is quoted as saying, "When we see Arabs heading towards us we start shouting to get the army to shoo them away." That suggests a generalised disdain for all Arab people, as if they are animals or insects that one might "shoo away", and that is a reprehensible attitude to have towards a group of one's fellow human beings, under any circumstances.

Mr Harris, various antisemitic comments have been made on these blogs, and casual vilification and delegitimization against Israel is regualrly expressed. I have never seen you counter it.

Instead, you gun for the one por-Israel voice here - Advis3r.
