Delusional

It would appear that those trying to infiltrate the border, according to IDF sources, included scores of women and children – a group the IDF took great precaution in protecting as they selectively fired, first into the air and, as a last resort, at the legs of those infiltrators who posed the greatest risk.
While Lebanese Army Forces did not try to stop those who approached the fence at Maroun a-Ras, IDF sources reported that LAF troops did respond, with live fire, to a separate incident involving hundreds of protesters who tried to infiltrate the border near the Israeli town of Metulla, resulting in several casualties. This was confirmed by footage from Lebanese TV which was shown live on Israel TV with incredulous Arab reporters telling viewers that their own country's forces were firing on their own citizens with live ammunition.
IDF spokesman Brig.-Gen. Yoav “Poli” Mordechai accused Iran of instigating the border incidents. ”We have one incident in Maroun a-Ras area on the Lebanese border and a second one at Majdal Shams, where we see fingerprints of Iranian provocation aimed at creating friction,” he said. This was not aimed at the so-called "occupation" this was aimed at the very existence of Israel as a Jewish State.
Israel is not Egypt nor is it Syria and nor is it Yemen. Israel is a strong and vibrant democracy with the rule of law not some tin pot dictatorship and whilst some delusional pundits on this website believe or rather wish that it will go the way of the Arab dictatorships they are wrong. It may take time but truth always triumphs and the faleshood that is the "Nakba" another missed chance of the Arabs own making will come back to haunt them not Israel.

Or as Alex Fishman put it in Yediot Achronot,

Our tendency to cast blame immediately on the Iranians, who are stirring up things up, and on the Syrians, who changed the rules of the game without informing us in advance -- is childish and unprofessional

Otoway on the meds again.

Yes Joe it is childish. We were told that the security forces were ready for all eventualities. Obviously they were not. it is a blessing that thankfully there were not more casualties on both sides and despite the Arabs again using women and children as human shields none were harmed. Even a cursory look at the blogs showed there was something up and the talk of mass marches to the borders was not a secret. I am an Arsenal supporter but our Defence Minister is beginning to sound like Wenger and the IDF are playing like the current Arsenal team great moves but no goals and a leaky defence! There's always next season?!
