Regarding your claim that Israel receives the most aid in the World in absolute terms, Sudan receives the most aid and “Palestine” the second most (the gap is narrowing in recent years.) But on a per-capita basis, the Palestinian Arabs receive about 9 times as much aid as the Sudanese do, and of course far more aid per capita than any other people on the planet.

23 July, 2011 - 10:37 Rate this: -1 points | Complete nonsense.The PA isn't a government of a country it's a construct that suits Israel very well.If it had any sense it would dissolve itself, then you would hear some howling. The US pays to keep it in existence. It doesn't even collect taxes.It is an artificial construct created from nothing.You might almost call it aid to Israel because the existence of the PA is a shield protecting Israel from the one state nightmare. The reality is that Israel is the least independent state on earth. It receives more US aid then any other nation, more then the whole of sub saharan Africa put together.The next biggest recipients of US aid are Egypt and Jordan. In other words payments for " being nice to Israel ". You might call this aid to Israel too. Without US aid and complete diplomatic protection,Israel would have disappeared a long time ago. No other country is so dependent on the whims of another country. Israel better end the occupation and get on with putting together a just two state solution quick. Americans at the end of the day will look after their own interests.This Israel American proxy thing is now historical. America will eventually start to seriously ask itself what is in it for us ? |
25 July, 2011 - 10:28 Rate this: 0 points | AQrmbach, rubbish. It is the Palestinians who receive more "aid" than the whole of sub-Saharan Africa, despite their need being invented. Israel does not receive "aid" in the same sense, it receives US military assistance, almsot all of which gets ploughed back to US companies. The US is in effect subsidizing its own arms industry. Most Palestinian aid ends up in Swiss bank accounts of Fatah cronies. |
