Rabbi Shochet said something in his Jewish News Q&A section the other week recommending the delights of cholent and whisky - in my opinion one of the finest Jewish experiences available - which almost had me ready to join his synagogue, but I find his thoughts on conversion and the ending of it so completely at odds with the basic fundamentals of what Judaism is all about I can't help but think he's been enjoying a dram or ten of Tallisker too many.

She is probably just pre-emptively declaring you wrong on everything to cover excess drinking on Purim.

Ardbeg and (especially) Laphroaig - good man! Laphroaig remains humankind's greatest invention to date in my estimation.

Oy, you're right! We must prevent this from ever happening again - I'm not quite sure the world is ready for agreement when it comes to anything concerning Jewish matters!
