In the London Mayoral election in 2008 many Jewish traditional Labour supporters did not vote for Livingstone. I wonder if something similar is happening. Stephen Pollard is far from alone I suspect.

Interesting article. Were you at one point in the SDP, or have I been misinformed. Only asking out of curiosity bordering noseyness as I enjoy 80s political history; this is not a question of burning relevance, nor am I attempting to score a point - just curious...I was a Liberal (young, not Young), but was really SDP in my heart.

No, Matthew, I was never in the SDP.
And, for the record, it's only in general elections I've never voted Conservative. I did it for the first time in 2008, to remove Livingstone. And I've voted Conservative in any number of council elections.

The Tories aren't perfect but at least they recognise that fact and at least they have some fresh ideas (that don't involve throwing away our nuclear deterrent or currency).
