once again, a headline is contradicted by the blog quoted … the ism has held a workshop specifically telling female activists …
“How to deal with sexual harassment during direct activities against the occupation”
anyway, what is the blog supposed to show?
from http://www.haaretz.com/blogs/mess-report/mess-report-are-the-palestinian... (14/7/2010, penultimate paragraph) …
One villager said … "The young people, especially from the villages, aren’t used to stay near other girls, they do not know their culture, certainly when it’s a young woman staying with other women in a strange house. They misinterpret it."
even in britain, sometimes a man is invited back "for coffee", and misinterprets it, resulting in an actual rape accusation, many of which result in acquittals
is this really any different? on one occasion, he approaches one muslim-american woman who he presumably thinks has encouraged him, and goes further than she intended
btw, joe settler's (muqata's) blog is untruthful … he says that the man did this a number of times …
Ha’aretz reported the story of a former Arab convict named Alladin who would find these young female peace activist staying in nearby villages, he would tell them he was on the run from the Shabak (Israel security), and ask them to hide him.
… but haaretz makes it clear that this only happened once
this is undoubtedly a good "human interest" story, and haaretz should have published it, but it's a one-off, the (palestinian) police decided not to prosecute, and joe settler (muqata) is blowing it out of all proportion

joshua18, whatever does hamas have to do with this?
are you seriously suggesting that hamas would approve of the rape of this muslim american woman?
(and the headline is a lie, isn't it? … ism did hold a workshop on the very problem the blog claims ism "does not tell"? )
and what is the blog supposed to show? … that palestinians generally try to rape the people who help them? that is racist stereotyping, isn't it?
