The whole world’s a-Twitter

...and now the JC is too. My name’s Jessica, this is my second time interning at the JC. In my other life, I labour away at journalism postgraduate diploma at Cardiff University, where the children of the multimedia journalism age are born. We’ve been taught to blog, social network and to Twitter, and now I’m bringing some of the new-fangled things I’ve learnt to the JC. As Peter Kay said: “The internet. I hear it’s the future.”

Twitter, in case you haven’t heard, is the new Facebook. Once signed up, you have your own feed, where you choose people you’re interested in hearing from, and ‘follow’ them. Interested in celebrity insider gossip? Follow Jonathan Ross, John Mayer or Lily Allen (It really is them)

Interested in whimsical wonderings? Follow Stephen Fry, Twitter’s most vocal supporter.

Interested in up-to-the minute breaking news, fantastic features and sporting triumphs from the Jewish world, at home and abroad, from the UK’s oldest and most widely read Jewish newspaper, with personal ‘tweets’ from reporters and editorial conferences? Then follow the Jewish Chronicle, of course.

Our Twitter is ‘JewishChron’ and our followers are mounting by the minute. Get interactive with us, and help us find stories, tell us what you think of our website, or just come on and have chat.

I’ll be updating during my next week here, and then I’m back to Cardiff, so say hello to me over the next week. After that it’ll be up to the JC’s full time staff, so give them your encouragement, and convince them I’m not some crazy kid. And if you fancy keep track of me after my departure back to Wales, then you can follow my Twitter ‘jessicaelgot’ and look at my blog

Happy Twittering!
