The Israeli mentality

The Israeli people have voted this past week and to little surprise we have seen again how they can look so stupid.
Voting with their minds they did not, with the Likud party and its head, the man who has helped to destroy education and hurt so much the poor and to the new one on the block, Liberman and his ideas that have taken Israel back to a time never been known before.
And what now it seems we need this man as a member of our coalition because we have know where to go without him as a coalition?
IN A FEW DAYS THE MEETING WILL BE SET TO DECIDE WHO WILL BE AVAILABLE TO HOLD COALITON TALKS. AS OF THIS DAY, IT DOES SEEM THE GOVERNMENT WILL BE RIGHT WING.

There is a phrase "voting with your feet" but in this case they seemed to vote with their brains in their tukhas.

Leiberman is the Israeli equivalent of the British National Party and he is in a powerful position now as any potential majority coalition will seek to incorporate him. Netenyahu will of course welcome him with open arms.

Abba Eban used to taunt the Palestinians that they "never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity". Nowadays that quote surely applies to the Israeli voters.

Here in Britain our community is normally quite outspoken against racists and fascists. Let's hope we don't lose our courage when it comes to commenting on Leiberman and his chums.
