What credibility does this document have?
It seems to have been put out under the auspices of the Board Of Deputies, but how can it be considered a communal response when its authors do not represent the mainstream community.
Rather they represent the Liberal, Reform and Masorti Organisations with a forward by an ex-member of Peace Now - how is this a communal response?
It is about time the "community" realised the seriousness of the BDS and de-legitimising campaigns that Israel is up against and advocated for some positive PR to attempt to redress the imbalance.
We have had enough of this left-wing nambypamyism, it is time the community elected leaders that will advocate strong and positive support for Israel, not critiscism.

This is a Jewish issue, so I'm not sure if my comments will be welcome. However it seems that they would have been better off not responding to it at all rather than a half-arsed unassertive response like this a year later.

And is this in reaction to the Methodists' expressed support for boycotts last year?

"and Christianity is the only one of the three to have its origins unequivocally in the Holy Land."

This "...." from the first paragraph of the forward!

I despair, I truly do!

matt, we Jews are known for our humour, that is why so many half-wits and nutters are allowed to post on this site - must be to keep the humour ratings up.

Matt, attacking people for ad homs and then resorting to them yourself is a bit of double standards...Your cowardly mate who hides behind either his first name or a pseudonym will tell you what that means.

We have the proof of your courage, Milligramsam. Remember the time when you were hiding behind a real pseudo yourself, not even a real first name? Unless "Sam" is your middle name?
We have the proof of your courage leaving Israel for UK. I understand life is much more difficult in the UK, with all the enemies around you and people who may suicide in your bus every day (such as 7/7), others who may send you a rocket from Ireland or Scotland. We sympathise with your bravery and your committed Zionism.*

* This was irony.

Double standards is when one expects and judge Israel to behave exactly like a European country in peace for 65 years with its neighbours, and expects and judge all dictatorships to act as dictatorships, blaming only the first and ignoring the second as if it did not exist.

That is double standards and it is exactly what Milligramsam does.

And double standards are a sure sign of antisemitism.
