Wait for Walinets, Newsmax, Quarterbrain et al to spin this one against Israel ...

I can't believe they fired a warning shot even though he was firing at them. If that had been the Brits he wouldn't have had that courtesy.

The IDF are very... erm... restrained.

I think these are mainly crazy people who want to commit suicide, perhaps in order to get 'martyr' money for the family or just because of the hate propaganda spread by hatemongers like Walinuts. Islam forbids suicide so they die as 'martyrs', go to paradise and the family gets 'martyr insurance' money.

I'm not surprised Tsahal fired warning shots. The checkpoints offer some protection so they don't need to "shoot first and ask questions afterwards", most of the time.

I thought the normal rules of engagement were that you can fire warning shots at a vehicle driving towards a checkpoint that ignores warnings to stop, but there is no obligation to fire warning shots at people who are shooting at you. I believe that's how the British army operates.

Jose, about your comment about martyrdom - the same thing crossed my mind about all these people in Egypt who have suddenly developed a penchant for self-immolation.

The people in Egypt who suicide do it for protesting life conditions there. They deserve our pity.

I suppose if you're going to suicide as protest it's better to do it that way rather than take a schoolbus full of kids out with you, Hamas style.

I don't know whether or not this Palestinian was armed or not. IDF versions of events can't be trusted. This tale may well be the excust of a trigger happy IDF soldier. They said that Tom Hurndall was armed. We now know that it was a lie but they killed him anyway
Anyway what are the IDF doing occupying Jenin? That is Palestine. Occupying forces will be attacked. Hitler found that out in France and Poland. Were the people who died fighting the Nazis occupiers terrorists or heroes? Britain had the same experience when they occupied Cyprus, Kenya, India, the list is endless. People will always attack their oppressors
Zionist do not want peace. They want a peaceful occupation, and the Palestinians are not like to agree to that.
You want peace? then stop the oppression and racism, stop the land thefts, stop the occupation. You'll get peace

Who said that, Waterdrop? Where is Palestine on the maps?
Israel does not occupy Jenin, stupid. Checkpoints are outside the city and they are there to protect Israeli civilians from a bunch of terrorists.
A few years ago, Jenin was a place where people lived like in Gaza. After 52 were killed (the 'massacre' of Jenin, another proven blood libel) and the rest of terrorists fled in fear, Jenin is again a place where 'Palestinians' can live. For those who want to live of course.

A much more interesting question is " where is Israel on the maps? "

Oh look !!!!! there it is !!!!

Those borders look uncannily like the pre 1967 borders to me but without my glasses I can't be sure

Good going Yoni, a whole posting without using the words spewing, screeching or spittle-flecked. Usually you cant cobble a sentence together without using all three. Well done. If you could just drop "twat" too, that would be a further improvement

I know that Zionist extremists do not want to understand the 1967 green line, but shutting your eyes and sticking your fingers in your ears is not going to get you far. Israel will have to deal with realities in the long run

Resolution 242 makes this very clear.

No armchair, you are wrong. You will clearly see in atlases that the territory is not marked as Israel - and neither is it marked "Palestine."

Maps also are not the best was to decipher complex legal issues. They are ceasefire lines.

Re the borders, I think Israel is the only state in the world that has never declared its borders, that is because the eretz Israel looniee think they will get everything from the Euphrates to the Med. Keep taking the tablets.
Amber,re your posting at 19.14 you may not have noticed, but the 1967 green line IS a cease fire line. Did you not know that?

On another note, it was good to see the alleged war criminal Lipni face up to the fact that there is a wave of evil sweeping across Israel. Now another former Zionist has had to face the shame. Congratulations to former editor of Maariv, Amnon Dankner, who says he is ashamed to be an Israeli these days as the country declines to brutality. A brave and honest man. Read his last para, he is talking about the crazies like people on this blog.

The green line is not 1967 but 1949, idiot!
The Arabs want Israel to get back first to 1949... Then, they will be in a much better position to attack, won't they?

waterman, you have made two despicable antisemitic allegations on these blogs - you ran away from the last one, so I thought I'd bring it here to throw in your face.

Firstly, you say Zionists are Nazis. It logically follows, as most Jews are Zionists (see the recent poll from the Institute of Jewish Policy Research) that most Jews are Nazis.

Secondly, you claim that Jews bring antisemitism on themselves, by their actions.

These are examples of the most outrageous antisemitism. Not only intellectually flawed, but morally repugnant in the extreme.

You are a disgrace who should not be afforded any respect, courtesy, and certainly not the right to spew such racist garbage on the website of the Jewish Chronicle.

Now go and crawl back into the hole whence you came, you disgusting racist.

Naughty, putting words in peoples mouths. I never said that Zionists are Nazis, though recently many Nazis (eg the BNP) are proud to be Zionists. However many times Zionists like Begin have cooperated with Nazis like South Africas John Forster, and the ZF and EDL demonstrate in monmouth Street.

So your challenge for today is prove that Jez said Zionists are Nazis. Presumably if you cannot do so you will apologise.

Remember to distinguish between Fascism and Nazis

I do not have to prove anything - it is what you said. You repeatedly drew comparisons between Zionists and Nazis, and associated them with Nazis. Secondly, you said Jews bring antisemitism on themselves.

Both are racist statements. I urge the JC to remove you from here - you are a racist Jew-hater.

Two conditions for being a Nazi: being antisemite and advocating the genocide of Jews. Both Hamas and Hezbollah are Nazi organisation, fostering antisemitism and advocating the genocide of Jews.
All those who support those organisations are, as a matter of fact, pro-Nazis.
Waterdrop showed clearly his basic antisemitism. His support for Hamas is enough to put him in the Nazi category, as all ISM supporters.
