Should British Jewry write to William Hague?

The Conservative Foreign Secretary, William Hague, is demanding that Israel allows "unfetterred access" to Gaza. Presumably he is implying, as a logical corollary, that Israel must now allow Hamas to rearm, enabling it to launch further missile attacks on Israel.

Should British Jewry now formulate a letter, to be sent to William Hague, explaining that such a policy will inevitably lead to war?

What do you fellow bloggers think? Is such an idea, a waste of time? Or worth exploring?

Btw, don't think that there is any point sending the letter to Nick Clegg.

I can just see the response:

Dear Mr Blank,
The Foreign Secretary has asked me to respond to your letter of the 30th ult., for which he thanks you, and which he read with interest. As you can appreciate, he receives many messages from constituents and others and his commitments are such that he is unable to reply personally to every one.
Yours Faithfully,
Gervase Fanshawe-d'Eath,
PPS to the Foreign Secretary

Hey, that's going to be a lot of signatures. Would you find a piece of paper long enough?

Ha ha ha ha.

You should warn me in future. I nearly choked on some Coke I was drinking. And my keyboard is now über-sticky.

Well, I will write to William Chamberlain on my account. I gave you the opportunity, and you laughed at it. So don't come crying to me when I overturn the direction of British foreign policy all on my own. I will take the glory and leave you both to the oblivion of blogging. Oh yes, I will.

You fail to understand that when I point out the error of his ways, he will see the light. My argument about leading to an inevitable war is a killer.

The pair of you are far too cynical for your own good. It will get you nowhere.

This is a etter that I wrote a while back that changed British foreign policy. It was discussed in The House.
Subject: LETTER TO THE UK FOREIGN SECRETARY.
Date: 19 January 2009 1:17:47 PM
To: milibandd@parliament.uk

Dear David Miliband,

I refer to your recent Guardian article....

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/jan/15/david-miliband-war-t...

Inter alia, you write: "The more we lump terrorist groups together and draw the battle lines as a simple binary struggle between moderates and extremists, or good and evil, the more we play into the hands of those seeking to unify groups with little in common.'

(1) However, don't many terrorist groups have links with each other? Isn't it crucial that we are aware of these links so that we can destroy them?

(2) Aren't terrorists best labeled as "extremists"? Surely that is precisely what they are? Isn't it PC drivel to try and label them differently?

(3) Aren't terrorists evil? If they blew up your family on the bus home, would you not think that the people who did were "evil"?

(4) Don't many terrorist groups have a common goal, namely the destruction of The West and the imposition of Islamic dictatorships?

I realize that you will be too busy to respond, but your wooly PC thinking fills me with considerable fear especially as a new US administration is about to take over,. And it is, unfortunately, committed to a similar perspective!

yours sincerely,

The Blacklisted Dictator

"Well, I will write to William Chamberlain on my account."

The Tories are back in power (well, kinda), and they tend to be big on dictators, blacklisted and otherwise, so you might be in with a chance.

Joshua,
You are changing your tune.
Why do you think that my leetter to Miliband won the day?

The trick when writing to a Foreign Secretary, is to come up with a very persuasive argument. That is why Miliband saw the error of his ways.

Of course, it also helps to me very condescending and dismissive. One must put them in their place.
