Sheer insanity

1) "Pinning hopes on a normal monsoon, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today said the Indian economy will expand by 8.5 per cent this fiscal and achieve double-digit growth in the next two years.

During 2009-10, Indian economy grew at better than expected rate of 7.4 per cent. The GDP expanded over 8.6 per cent in the last quarter of the same fiscal."

2) "Growth in India’s services industry including software and telecommunications accelerated to a two- year high in June, maintaining pressure on the central bank to raise interest rates and curb inflation."

3) "AS anyone who has flown into Delhi or Mumbai will have noted, Indian airports are a shambles. This has long been the case, but such infrastructure as the country has clearly cannot cope with the demands of the second-fastest-growing big economy in the world."

4) "The Indian economy is galloping at a breakneck speed and might even reach double-digit growth by 2013, feel Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Commerce Minister Anand Sharma."

5) "Indian stocks fare best among BRIC peers in first half of 2010"
