Interior Minister Rehman Malik said the guard had told police that he killed Mr Taseer because of the governor's opposition to Pakistan's blasphemy law.
Many were angered by his defence of a Christian woman sentenced to death.
Why should we want a 24th Muslim country, exactly? I can't remember the reason.

Thanks Jose. I've been following this. It's quite scary. I read that the mainstream media in Pakistan is pretty much towing the Islamist line as well. The message is clear: If you speak out against us, or disagree with us, you will die.
Pakistan is sliding quickly into totalitarianism, the only thing that can stop it is if people are brave enough to speak out.
