Orthodox victims of homophobia

Among the justified claims here that there has been an awful lot of homophobic abuse on this blog (strange it hasn't been removed. Maybe the hate-monger is protected), a little reported phenomenon has been ignored. Gay orthodox men -- and probably women, too.
Failed Messiah writes:
Each one opened his heart to us and told us his difficult story – how he discovered that he was homosexual, how he dealt with himself and with religion, how he went to or did not go to a rabbi, whether he underwent psychological treatment to try and change his sexual orientation or other treatment, how his parents reacted and how he came out of the closet, if indeed he did so. It was impossible not to be impressed by the desire of these men to continue to be part of the religious community.

Question is: will the bigots let them.

They don't remove Israelophobia either. I'd call that "Evens".

Telegramsam raised this subject in his previous identity; what is his level of interest in the subject?

Unfortunately, what you propose is incompatible with religion.
If one believes in religion or is religious how do you reconcile what the Bible, Old & New Testaments teach?

From the Old Testament:-
Genesis 19: 1-29
Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13
Judges 19: 1-30

and

From the New Testament
I Corinthians 6:9
Romans I:18-29
Jude 7

What "Israelophobia", Yvetta? You can't between the, quite mild, criticism of Israeli government policy and the murderous homophobia -- almost akin to Jew-hatred, and we know where that led - that is freely expressed here.

This is what telegram/spam/sham is impressed with:-

Yvetta, compared to the murderous homophobic comments here, milder than mild ale. But at least they have been removed.

They came first for the Communists,
and no one said anything.

Then they came for the Roma,
and no one said anything.

Then they came for the Jews,
and no one said anything.

Then they came for the Muslims,
and no one said anything.

Then they came for the homosexuals,
and no one said anything.

And then they came for me
and there was no one left to say anything.

Yvetta,
"You call stephenb, zair and that yankx character or whatever he's called "mild",?"

- shouldn't speak ill of the dead (dead as far as this forum is concerned. At least the Moderator got something right ..)

Of course it's attributed, Avraham. It's attributed to me. Does everyone other than extremist religious fundamentalist zealots make you nauseous? You know what they about homophobes? But let's not go there.

Homophobia is very very wrong. Indeed, we should be encouraging our misled brethren to return to Torah and Hashem, just how we would encourage a kleptomaniac also.

Many of them create a chillul Hashem through ignorance or a lack of help to get back on the derech. Speaking lashon hara of someone who is under the false allusion they have no choice but to be gay won't help anything.

Instead of that, we should be teaching them there is a Ribono Shel Olam and assisting with their tikkun.

Iris - Was that supposed to be addressed to me? If so, your paskening straight from Torah is wonderful, but that's not how it works in Judaism.

"Yoni1's support for them speaks volumes."

I'd like to think so. It makes me a better human being than you.
That's not saying much, of course, since you are a hate-steeped and hateful individual.

"Makes one wonder if Yoni1's name isn't Indian in origin ..."

My name is Israeli, you little shit.

The arrogance of theists is limitless, it seems.

"a hate-steeped and hateful individual"
"you little shit"

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"First they came ..." is a famous statement attributed to Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) about the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power and the purging of their chosen targets, group after group. The text of the quotation is usually presented roughly as follows:

They came first for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

-------------------------

Of course, now we know that Wikipedia has got it all wrong, because:

Watchful Iris: "Of course it's attributed, Avraham. It's attributed to me"
