To be fair, didn't Cameron recently have a rant about "Occupied East Jerusalem"? Never mind how mindless that statement really is, it just goes to show there's no longer any true right-wing alternative here in UK politics.

When the leaders of the three main parties were asked to address the Reform Movement, Nick Clegg was the only one who had the guts actually to set out his party's policies. Your friend Dave didn't even mention Israel.

Dear Jonathan, Did you hear the great news that Gil Scott Heron has canceled his tour of Israel?
http://www.salem-news.com/articles/april262010/heron-israel.php
Yet another musician who refuses to perform there. The public image of Israel is sinking. They could improve their reputation over night by ending the occupation of the west bank.

And they could improve their public image still further, Tom, by laying down their arms and surrendering their country altogether. Then the CiFtype lefties will love Jews again, because Jews will have become powerless victims once more.

"The public image of Israel is sinking"

Proof? Evidence?

Oh I forgot, you Guardian CIF types and Theobald Jews don't go in for that kind of thing.

The Lib Dems really can't mind their Tonges! Just look at the latest Lib Dem to show the party's treue colours, Madeleine Kirk, as reported in this esteemed organ:
A Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate in Yorkshire told a hustings meeting that “the power of the Jewish lobbies in Washington and Britain” are the reason a full arms embargo has not been imposed on Israel.
She's also reortedly backed Tonge's infamous call for an investigation into whether Israel harvested human organs in Haiti.

Despicable.

For a "Fair Deal for Israel" in that constituency (York Outer) vote for Julian Sturdy (Conservative).

Vote Conservative in every constituency bar Birkenhead (Field), Ceredigion (James), Liverpool Riverside and Wavertree (Ellman, Berger), Sheffield Brightside (Blunkett).

After Brown's Gillian Duffy gaffe yesterday, I think we are heading for 38 (C) / 26 (L) / 27 (LD) (or possibly better for the Conservatives which gives them a fighting chance of an overall majority). Tonight's debate on the economy has pitfalls for all three parties since they all have a £40bn+ 'black hole' of deficit reduction for which they have failed to give us any details (see IFS report on Tuesday). This is because Labour cancelled the Public Spending Review last year - which lets the other two off the hook of having to detail their deficit reduction programmes. So as far as the economy is concerned, I don't expect the debate to have much impact on the rankings.

The Lib Dems are all about slogans and divisive politics. They exploit and encourage public prejudice to win votes which is a tactic I find absolutely abhorrent. Makes them no different to the BNP. Politicians should be seeking to heal divisions in society, not exploit them.

As for this woman, she's just stupid, reactionary and prejudiced. Not the kind of person I want running the country or having any say in the running of the country.

Please, please don't vote Lib Dem!

Jonathan: "Vote Conservative in every constituency bar Birkenhead (Field), Ceredigion (James), Liverpool Riverside and Wavertree (Ellman, Berger), Sheffield Brightside (Blunkett)."

I presume you're not endorsing the Tory candidate in Ceredigion because he has no hope of winning, Jonathan. The sitting member is a Lib Dem who's no friend to Israel. But is his rival, the Plaid Cymru candidate, really an improvement? I know the election flyer from Penri James specifies that he wants to end the war in Afghanistan. From what I've know of Plaid Cymru, it is pro-Palestinian, seeing an analogy with the "downtrodden" Welsh, I suppose.
