Netanyahu: ''Israel must hit the Palestinians hard... the world will say nothing''

Netanyahu scores massive own goal, as footage is leaked of him admitting he ended the Oslo peace process.

In the footage Netanyahu states: Israel must hit the Palestinians hard 'so the pain is unbearable'... 'the world will say nothing, the world will say we are defending ourselves'... lastly concerning minor withdrawals from the West Bank he states 'the trick is to pay a minimal price' (referring to 2% withdrawal in the West Bank). These minor withdrawals were publicly reported as a 'great concession' while simultaneous illegal Jewish settlement expansion rose dramatically during Oslo.

There is once more evidence of a complete separation between Netanyahu's public statements (when pushed by the US) such as agreeing to the principle of a Palestinian state, and his failure to impliment these sentiments and act upon them. Netanyahu likewise continued sanctioning further illegal settlements during the supposed 'settlement freeze'.

Its clear Netanyahu does not want peace, and hopefully the leak of this video will wake up the US to accept they must press Israel severely for there to be an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine

One thing is sure: there is no separation between Hamas statements and what they do: they try hard to destroy Israel. Even if that means using useful idiots for that.

And the Palestinian 'Authority' is also pretending to be committed to peace, while they never ever sit at the negociation table, asking that all their demands are met before they even start to negociate. Looks like they won the Six-Day War. Ludicrous!

This is proof, it is was ever in doubt, that Netanyahu is not interested in peace and believes he act sanction illegal settlements and ignore world opinion and condemnation simply because the US will support Israel. But the world is waking up to this and opposition to the Israeli occupation is increasing across the world

"This is proof"

Well, not exactly. This is just a video, remember? probably you don't understand Hebrew yourself so you have to rely on possibly highly biased subtitles.
The fact is that Palestinians never made any effort for peace. All of the effort has always been done by Israel.
So spare your criticism for those who deserve it most. But strangely enough you always avoid doing that. Why are you so biased? And why do you need to expose your bias here, where everyone will dump it where it belongs, because we know much more than you on the subject.

What you know, is the singular 'Israel is always right narrative' that you swallow whole heartedly and uncritically. Like i have said to Jon and Jonathan on here before. Please prove me wrong, and accept that Israel has made a mistake previously? Go on, even what you view as a small mistake, can you name just one??. But you never will, as your not objective, you simply defend any action of the Israeli state, you blindly follow.

Like Marc Ellis states - Judaism does not equal Israel. If you Jewish you don't have to uncritically accept the Israeli mistreatment of the Palestinians, its not inscribed in Jewish law or scriptures, where as seeking justice is.

"What you know, is the singular 'Israel is always right narrative'"

Since you are serving us the 'Israel is always wrong narrative', you have some nerve telling that here.

"Please prove me wrong"

You are the one who assert. You have to prove yourself right. The BURDEN OF PROOF IS ON YOU.

"If you Jewish"

How do you know I am Jewish? Because of your prejudices? I never asserted I was Jewish on these blogs. So I suppose that you automatically 'accuse' those who support Israel to be Jewish. A clear demonstration of racism.

I never said you were Jewish, hang onto your hat! I was talking about Marc Ellis book, you tw±t

I acknowledge this is a complex situation, i blame also Hamas and Abbas for being a crap leader, like i have already said, but THIS DOES NOT ABSOLVE ISRAEL OF ITS RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE OCCUPATION and the impact and suffering this continues to have on the Palestinians. While you will never accept Israel made even a tiny mistake as your blinded and as i said you believe everything associated with Israeli policies is good. Even when Bibi states on this leaked video, that he ended the Oslo peace process by continuing settlements, still you blame the Palestinians

"if you Jewish"
....
"I never said you were Jewish"

Hang on to your keyboard! You are a racist.

"i blame also Hamas"

When did you do that? And for what? The situation of Gazans? You can!

"While you will never accept Israel made even a tiny mistake"

I'll accept that Israel is defending itself and I say you apply double standards when Israel is concerned, the behaviour of a racist.

"as i said you believe everything associated with Israeli policies is good."

What policy are you talking about? Then maybe I can tell you if it is good or not. All what you mentioned was mostly

uhh? what better evidence of netanyahu's opinions that a video of him saying them?

ibrows: Please prove me wrong

jose, since your only possible objection is that the translation is wrong, and since you believe ibrows doesn't understand hebrew, i'd say ibrows has established a sufficient case, requiring an answer

there's a clear prima facie case here against netanyahu

if this video does prove that netanyahu lied to to the united states in the past, how can they trust him now, and wouldn't israel (and the peace process) be better off without him?

(and jose, why have you been dragging this blog off the topic… of netanyahu? )

Where is the video? There's no link.

Can anyone that speaks Hebrew translate and verify? I've heard so many completely fabricated "quotes" from Israeli politicians, and ibrows consistently posts anti-Israel blogs here, that I am very dubious of the truth in this.

This from an Israeli friend:

"The translation is mostly accurate. but he doesn't say america can be "pushed". he uses the term "l'haziz" which means "move". i think in the context of the conversation, he's saying that america can be convinced to move back to the correct path. he certainly isn't saying anything along the lines of "america can be pushed around" or "i can force america to do something". frankly, i think this is a mountain out of a molehill. when he says he "stopped" the oslo process, for example, he's talking about stopping a series of progressive military withdrawals, not the peace process itself. the conversation is pretty innocuous and he doesn't say anything he hasn't said a million times before. the whole story is mostly spin."
