More Leading Zionists Arrested
The British Government steps up its war on the Zionist entity

On the direct orders of the British Prime Minister a number of leading Zionists were arrested this morning by officers of the Met's anti-terror branch. It is understood that among those held are the Chief Rabbi, Jonathan Sacks, and the former editor of the recently banned Jewish Chronicle, Stephen Pollard. Due to the latest restrictions on media coverage of the anti-terror branch's operations against Zionist agents, we cannot provide any further details of these arrests.

Those detained can be held without trial for a period of up to five years. They are not entitled to legal representation.

However, as my mum would observe, "Many a true word is spoken in jest" ...

On what basis would they ban The JC? Jenni Frazer? Miriam Shaviv?? Not to mention a host of bloggers who could be posting from Gaza City.

yvetta, give it 10 years and it will be no joke.

The fact you had a mental double-take speaks volumes.

This is so good it has inspired an article. Thanks joshua18. My pen is poised.

well i suppose if labour had been given another couple of terms it would certainly have been possible. mind you, 2 more terms of labour and none of us would have been safe. remember niemoller!

i really dont know why you guys have the guardian down as anti-semitic though. been reading it for 25 years - its pretty objective, and without doubt the best uk newspaper by a country mile. obviuosly it doesn't support the status quo in the middle east, but thats hardly extreme - even in israel.

oh, worked out MSM i thing (yvetta) - main stream media??? sometime i thing you DOTI's (defenders of the indefensible), are living in a parallel universe. considering its modus operandi, israel gets an amazingly eary ride in the msm. its paradigm is often accepted less than critically - two small and one large example which colour perceptions of the conflict - Hamas and Fatah commit 'terrorist' attacks, while the IDF conducts 'military operations'. palestinians have 'gunmen' while the IDF have 'soldiers'. Iran is said to be developing nuclear weapons, when israel has had them for 40 years - i'll repeat that FORTY YEARS - msm hardly ever refers to israel's nukes - especially the tv media.

He means the heimishe Jews and the frum Jews, Amber; in fact, any Jew who feels that Jews, yiddishkayt, Judaism, Israel, are a precious legacy and worth cleaving to, Jews who refuse to give Hitler a posthumous victory. To call him a "yekke" is to insult the German Jews; he is akin to the turncoat Jews of the Middle Ages and later who renounced their Judaism and - not content with that - told the church/Tsarist authorities that ritual murder, baking matzohs with the blood of Christian children, is an integral part of Jewish rite and practice instead of the filthy canrad that it was and is.

That should read "filthy canard".
And we all know where that filthy canard led.

And I apologise for "doing a BD" and posting thrice in a row, but the arrogance of the fellow - the assumption that we have no non-Jewish friends! I'm sure he's a great musician, and I admire him for that; I also think that he's probably a boon companion. But on this topic he's really really strange; I mean, plenty of Jews berate facets of Israeli policy, but few go as far as he does, willing with gusto and even anticipated pleasure the end of the Jewish People and the end of the State of Israel.

joshua18. what point?

amber. yes i will do that - but of course CiF is blog stuff is it not? that doesn't count as the guardian, in the same way blogging on the jc does not define the jc. am i missing something?

but cant you just give me a link to the most ant-semitic items you have ever seen on the guardian - not on the letters page or CiF mind.

It does count as the Guardian - see CiF Watch.
The constant harping on about Israel, the anti-Israel bloggers, the tolerance by moderators of antisemitism, the removal of pro-Israel posts (and posters).

Oh, and about those Israeli nukes. Israel has never used them in all those years. That's because the Israeli leaders are rational people. But once the madman in Teheran gets them - the madman who apparently believes in the coming of the legendary Twelfth Imam (whose coming is to be proceeded, so it goes, by bloodshed and mayhem) - well, I don't need to spell it out.
