The Jewish Review of Books has now launched, and looks extremely interesting - I hope to read and comment on some of the articles later in the week.

What with Jewish Ideas Daily (which recently hired the Jerusalem Post's editorial editor) and Tablet, there has been a real boom in intellectually heavy-hitting Jewish websites in recent months. What a pleasure.

Excellent news! My partner and I have been putting together the beginnings of our own little Jewish library (which, when her books are combined with mine, numbers a mere twenty or so titles thus far) - this will be invaluable in helping us decide which books to spend our hard-earned credit cards on.

Mriam, will this not clash with the JC's excellent book page(s)?

Moshe, the JC doesn't as a rule review academic tomes, so hopefully this will help to fill the gap.
Great JC review (by Prof. Bogdanor) of Anthony Julius's book on antisemitism in last Friday's JC, btw. I'm told that about 300 people - including communal heavies - were at last night's launch of the Julius book, and that there was apparently little or no overlap with the guests at the previous evening's glitter-studded launch, that of a biography of Sir Moses Montefiore - the first full-length biography ever written.
