Im Tirzu, a fascist Israeli student group, has attacked the New Israel Fund over its alleged support for the Goldstone Report. In a series of adverts in the Israeli media, it showed the leader of NIF, Naomi Hazan, with a horn, just like Der Stuermer depicted Jews with horns. Not only that, but Im Tirzu is funded by an American pastor, John Hagee, who once said that the Holocaust was a good thing because it created the State of Israel.
As NIF wrote:
“The kinds of societies and countries that try to intimidate and quash freedom of speech are not the kinds of countries we want to emulate or that I think Israelis want to emulate,” he said. “And while we’re quite cognizant of the fact that people who don’t have Israel’s best interests in mind could use the material provided by human rights and civil rights organizations to damage Israel, the democratic identity of Israel and the values we stand for are far more important than what our enemies might do with these reports.”
Update:
Now Israel wants to introduce laws against domestic organisations supporting Israeli democracy and against human rights groups. So much for the "only democracy in the Middle East".
No doubt the Zionist Federation will come out fighting to defend the indefensible. ProZion, LFI and others leave the ZF now or risk being tarred as apologists for the far right.

Im Tirtzu Report: 92 percent of the negative citations used in the Goldstone Report to criticise the IDF's conduct in Gaza last year came from 16 Israeli NGOs, which Im Tirtzu has alleged received some $7.8 million in financial support from the New Israel Fund in 2008-2009 alone.
