Sounds like you arewell and truly rattled. What does it feel like being on the losing side, knowing that the noose is tightening? |

The economy is so strong that Israel has been accepted into the OECD, the only country in the Middle East to achieve this. During the global downturn, Israel was among the last country whose growth rate fell below trend, one of the mildest hit, and one of the earliest to achieve recovery. http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/scr/2010/cr1023.pdf Try sticking to what you know about, clevenson - whatever that is (it is impossible to tell from your execrable posts here so far). Maybe you are an expert in reading Janet and John books? |

29 August, 2010 - 05:29 Rate this: 1 point | I got it to work, you need to click on 'proceed to this site' All it is is film of the boycotters and anecdotes Proves nothing @clevenson: Please supply quantitative, sourced econometric evidence that exports have been hit by BDS |
29 August, 2010 - 08:02 Rate this: 0 points | joshua18, you are talking complete rubbish, and denying the holocaust
clevenson, once again you write a blog headline ("Israel rattled by the boycott") that is contradicted by your own source … |
29 August, 2010 - 08:50 Rate this: 1 point | clevenson's headline Well he would say that, wouldn’t he? After all, what is his alternatives? “Boycott and Divestment has been Failing for a Decade Now, but We Will Continue to Push It Since it Makes Us Feel Good, Activists Say” “We May Have Gotten Caught Trying to Pass Off Another BDS Hoax Last Week (Harvard sells Israeli stocks for financial reasons), But That Won’t Prevent Us From Trying Again, Activists Say” Or how about (God Forbid) a headline that actually reflects the facts such as “Israel Boycott Attempts Still Controversial after Ten Years”. clevenson - Israel is here to stay - Jews have been boycotted many times in their history we are still here but where are the boycotters? |
29 August, 2010 - 09:58 Rate this: 0 points | Yes boycott Israel and then you wont have any of this:- http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/Israel+beyond+politics/International+conferenc... |
29 August, 2010 - 10:35 Rate this: 1 point | JH and others Why do you respond ? Trolls require the oxygen of response to motivate them . This could be a Greenstein ,Fink , or anyone of the other Theobald Israel haters . For all you know it could be one of the apoplectic scumbags demonstrating outside Ahava yesterday . This is not about fair and measured criticism of Israel . This is about hate and using every means to delegitimize Israel. That it should be happening on British Jewrys flagship publication is beyond my comprehension. Moderators - Get a grip and tighten up on who can and cannot post above the line on this site as otherwise you hold this on line publication up for ridicule and a useful tool for Israel haters . If I wanted to read this garbage I would go to MPACUK or better still Haaretz . |
jose (not verified) 29 August, 2010 - 11:04 Rate this: 1 point | In fact, Israel has been rather spared by the global economic crisis in 2010. Tourism and exports are up over previous year (the latter by more than 15%). All we can wish is that BDS remain as efficient or does even better. ;) Let's remember that Israel has been boycotted by Muslim countries since it was founded again in 1948, to no avail. The poor action of propagandists will not change anything, just because Israel is no more a poor agricultural country but a high-tech superpower. Israel exports brain-work, patents, electonics, high-tech weapons and no one in its own mind will boycott that. |
29 August, 2010 - 11:50 Rate this: 1 point | 'What does it feel like being on the losing side, knowing that the noose is tightening?' 'Noose'? So, you wish to hang Israel, until it breathes no more? You, are a Nazi, my friend. Jonathan H., there is a real problem with the JC blog screening system. It allows all types, sometimes non-Jewish (not necessarily a problem), sometimes closet neo-Nazis (obviously unacceptable), to link to it. Is this a good thing? |

As Bankrupt Britain is teetering on the edge of a depression and Israel's economy is booming, I hope everyone else will join with me in laughing at you and your ridiculous statement.
No, it's not very pleasant to be boycotted. However, as there is absolutely no difference between the kind of people who boycotted Jews in Nazi Germany and the sort of animals boycotting Israel today, I think we should take is as a badge of honour more than anythng else.
