There can be few more important hobbies than protecting Israel's reputation on-line (and elsewhere, I know) because some samples of the worst Internet postings that I've come across include these horrors:
A Star Of David, in colour yet, likened to a spider.
Blaming Israel for the Middle East war - a regular, that.
A fake Shul with abusive Rabbis running it.
Reading the word Zionist used as an insult.
Jews assumed to run the media/world - where? how?
...need I go on? :)
Doing searches out of curiousity using the words Jew and Israel has led me onto this hobby, so though I know robust use of the Internet (both Google and Youtube) is a newish phenomenon, please join me.
Thank you, because the rubbish currently on-line finds its way to debates off-line in the public arena, sadly, I see this frequently as I don't live in particularly well-populated Jewish area.

Yes it's appalling. The thing about the internet is that it lets you know what (some) people really think. They are much less guarded about their words when they are anonymous and don't have to account for them. Look at some of the nonsense posted on these blogs by some (e.g. Telegramsam).
Wikipedia was in an awful state - most articles relating to Israel were heavily biased towards the Arab side - although I think it's improving now. So things can change.
Worth remembering that people that post such stuff are probably a tiny minority, so the world probably isn't as bad as the internet leads you to believe!
