Is BeBe One of Us?

Not Bibi (who's pretty darn fabulous too) but the fabulous BeBe - Brigitte Bardot.
The Javal family is a distinguished French-Jewish family of industrialists, bankers, medicos, etc which originated in Alsace. I believe the name Javal is unique to them. BeBe's papa was a Parisian industrialist and her birth name is often given as Camille Javal. Yet, on googling, I find that Camille Javal is in some sources given as the name of a character she played. Most confusing.
All this might, for many people, come into the "who the Hell cares" category, but at a time when all too many of us scramble to claim even the most "minor" celeb as of Jewish background, wouldn't it be fabulous to claim just a bit of BeBe!
Any genealogical sleuths out there who could provide the definitive word on Mlle Javal?

Let's hope not: her connections with the racist (including antisemitic) right is not something to boast about. Her present husband is close to the French extreme-right party "Front National".

She was born Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot and not "Javal". "Camille Javal" is the name of her character in the movie "Le Mépris".

She was condemned five time for inciting racial hatred (against immigration, mostly Muslim). She has also called for an end to halal-style slaughtering, for the same reasons she could use for kosher-style slaughtering.

If she was even partly Jewish, that would be something not to boast about. But she is not one bit, most certainly.

Thanks, Jose. It's strange how that Javal business got started, seeing as it was a character she played, unless the name of the character was based on a stage name she'd briefly taken - though her real name takes some beating and I doubt she would have. I did think it odd that her connection to "us" had not been sniffed out by journalists by now, whether for good or bad motives.
