The PA now has an Ambassador and an Embassy in Dublin, it's just been announced. Ireland's the first EU country to upgrade the PA's diplomatic status - probably won't be the last.
You'll remember how the JC told you (not) about all those Latin American countries recognising a State of "Palestine" within 1967 borders (Peru's the latest) - how long before the EU follows suit?

Given that the EU's foreign policy is directed by the unelected Baroness Ashton of Upholland, who also thinks that Europe should enter a strategic military alliance with China (of all places), nothing would surprise me.
Ireland doesn't surprise me one bit, here's lovely Dublin a couple of years ago (note the Hamas flags):
