Ireland Upgrades the PA's Diplomatic Presence

The PA now has an Ambassador and an Embassy in Dublin, it's just been announced. Ireland's the first EU country to upgrade the PA's diplomatic status - probably won't be the last.
You'll remember how the JC told you (not) about all those Latin American countries recognising a State of "Palestine" within 1967 borders (Peru's the latest) - how long before the EU follows suit?

Given that the EU's foreign policy is directed by the unelected Baroness Ashton of Upholland, who also thinks that Europe should enter a strategic military alliance with China (of all places), nothing would surprise me.

Ireland doesn't surprise me one bit, here's lovely Dublin a couple of years ago (note the Hamas flags):

Also I wonder if this is anything to do with the forthcoming elections? Hmmm... surely politicians wouldn't be that cynical would they?

What is Brown-Shirt Quarterdick screeching about this time?

Ireland has a proud history of antisemitism (as has Scotland).

When you say "Also I wonder if this is anything to do with the forthcoming elections?" you are acknowledging the popular support for the Palestinian cause, and you are right. Popular opinions is ahead of that of our legislators, but that is changing as electoral pressure is brought to bear.
Yvetta it is now 9 countries in Latin America that are backing Palestine. I hope you are right about the EU.
As Dylan said, it doesn't take a weatherman to know which way the wind blows"

aterman, the racist who accuses Jews of bringing antisemitism on themselves, thinks the merits of an argument are decided by how many people sign up to it.

Not only is he a racist, he is a victim of peer pressure.

Going by your argument waterman, only a handful of countries "recognize" the newly invented Arab and Jew free entity called "Palestine" which has never existed before in history. Over 90% of the world does not.

What does it prove?

armchair, the natives are Jews, and the colonisers are Arabs.

In my view, Matt was rather acknowledging the prevailing antisemitism. But in no way, he was condoning it like any stupid would and even less suggesting we join the bandwagon just like racist stupids do.

Let's remember that the Arabs who came in the late 19th century and 20th century and their descendants are "colons" in the sense the antisemites think of the Israeli Jews.

But as they apply double standards, they criticise the Jews and condone the Arabs.

And double standards are a sure sign of antisemitism.

Well, that would be quite new indeed, Wheelchair!
But what do you think: Jews resisted in Diaspora for 2000 years to genetic assimilation to the point that after all this time, Sephardim and Ashkenazim are still closer to each other than they are to their host population. This is a result of scientific genetic studies that denied the antisemitic-acclaimed stupidities written by Shlomo Zand.

So I'm afraid that you will have to wait a little bit before the Jews are assimilated by the Arabs (let's not say "Palestinians", which has been until now a fictitious people). Who knows, in 10,000 years, maybe?
