Today in Haaretz comes rather grim reading about another land grab in the west bank. NB this time the article is not from the Guardian.

Please note the article is by Amira Hass so I would suggest that there is another side to thi story which has not been reported by Ha'aretz

so because you don't care for Amira Hass it's a pack of lies?

A Palestinian women was killed by israeli shelling in Gaza. For no other reason than that two 'suspicious figures' were seen near the Gaza side of the border. So a woman had to lose her life, leaving behind angry and hurt children, brothers and husband.

Just another statistic in the terrible occupation and seige of the Palestinians.

The bulldozing of villages and the expulsion of their inhabitants is nothing less than barbarism. It serves no purpose other than to further embitter the disposessed and to criminalise the perpetrators. It is such an agony to acknowledge that all this criminality and cruelty is underwritten by the USA.

Did I say it was a pack of lies, I merely said there is probably another side to the story which Hass would not be minded to tell us about.

@yankeeuxb were you so enraged when Hamas rockets killed people in Sderot?

perhaps you can give a link to the shelling story.

yankeeuxb only registered for this web site on the 20th July, so are we to assume it is a pseuodonym for one of the many anti-Israel, lefty anti-semites that have been exposed on this web site before?

If this is the incident referred to, it was a major incursion yesterday afternoon, near the border fence, just East of Sderot, the group included terrorists from the Islamic Jihad organisation - and yes they were taken out by the IDF - good thing too!!

yankeeuxb, perhpas your anger should be directed to the Islamist terrorists who were trying to infiltrate the Jewish state to murder. Israel has a right and moral duty to defend herself, and self-defence is not always a fine art. If you knew anything about the army or military history, you'd know that. It would also help if you had a moral compass so you could distinguis between the aremd forces of a democratic state and a group of jihadist antisemitic racist terrorists.

The blame falls squarely on the shoulders of the terrorists.

you hit the nail on the head, the article is being dismissed on here, simply because they dislike Amira Hass, as she has criticised Israeli policies in the Occupied territories. The fact that she sends time investigating these events in the occupied territories and has actual evidence to support her claims simply does not come into as she is labelled 'anti-Israel', due to criticism of Israel, case closed for the narrow minded on this blog

Given the amount of outright lies that get said about Israel and the gleeful delight that some people take in repeating them, forgive me for being sceptical.

Personally I would like to hear the other side of this story before jumping to any conclusions. The article is clearly one sided and agenda driven and offers no explanations by any government spokespeople.

Who here seriously thinks the IDF destroy villages for the fun of it? Apart from ibrows, clevenson and yankeeuxb of course.

But ibrows, you do hate Israel, the Jewish state - viscerally and irrationally...be honest about it at least.

clevenson, Kurdish villages in Syria are being destroyed now - today - in Syria. Turkey (the land of the propaganda flotilla) is killing hundreds of Kurds in northern Iraq as well.

Why don't you write about it? Can't blame Israel, I guess.

Hypocrite.

I am writing about Israel not Syria. Israel has pretensions to being a democracy unlike Syria which is a member of the basket case family of nations.

So that means we don't have to subject them to any scrutiny, right?

Double standards clevenson. Yours is the argument obsessive Israel bashers always employ - "you're changing the subject" - when in fact, you only ever talk of one subject, from one perspective.

Hollow hate-filled bluster.
