The election has (obviously) been and gone, but falling through a time warp comes this piece from Haaretz from Wednesday night: http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/nick-clegg-to-haaretz-i-ad.... I was especially interested in what he had to say about Iran.

What sycophantic drivel

"The British Barack Obama" --- pass the sickbag.

"Clegg, who may take second place, will be the kingmaker ...."

The LibDems were third both in seats and in votes (23% versus 29% for Labour and 36.1% for the Conservatives). Clegg is not the "Kingmaker" because Labour and the LibDems together have only 315 seats, below the 326 needed for a majority. A Labour/LD 'understanding' therefore could not command a majority.

So Clegg has a problem with "certain actions of the Israeli government"? He means defending itself against a massive onslaught from radical islamists, a bit like our troops are doing in Afghanistan, Matthew.

So when will Clegg "bravely" be calling for a ban on the supply of weapons to British and American forces?
