If Carter says Brazil can be a leader in the peace process, then it is the best proof it cannot.

By the way, Brazil already showed that by 'recognising' Palestine (should be "cognising" because Palestine has never existed as a country before) in the so-called "1967 borders" (meaning "1949 Armistice Line"). It proves Brazil doesn't have a clue of the History of the area and acted as partisan.
Of course, such a country cannot be of any help to the peace process.

"Palestine has never existed as a country before"

And doesn't exist now.

Nor will it ever exist, except in the dreamworld of the trendy-lefties and useful idiots.

Well, at least Brazil and Argentina 'cognise' it!
Indeed very stupid move, as it will only benefit radicals who don't believe in peace.

Nor will it ever exist, except in the dreamworld of the trendy-lefties and useful idiots.

They WILL have their own State Jon, but not until their political leadership and propagandists start behaving like reasonable people instead of irrational, warmongering Jew haters.

However judging by the behaviour during the latest "peace" negotiations I can't see that happening any time soon.

It will take a long and painful process of de-Nazification.

Yoni: You're right but unfortunately that is not even part of the debate. We should be asking why not.

Sorry Matt I have to disagree. As you have said, you "can't see it happening some time soon".
As in the current situation do they want one state, West Bank, or two states West Bank and another one in Gaza.
I can't see it happening in the "never never".
The more likely result will be the West Bank being federated with Jordan and Gaza being controlled by Egypt.
