Equality in the Equality Bill for lesbians and gay men

The amendment to the Equality Bill, proposed by Lord Alli, does not seek to force any organisation or individual to do anything in respect of civil partnerships. It merely allows those who wish to do so to open the doors – literally – to their houses of worship and sanctuary, so that gays and lesbians can celebrate their loving unions alongside their straight brothers and sisters.

Either disgusting or extremely funny - I can't decide which - that this man can call himself a 'rabbi'.

I'm willing to bet that regarding the material required to be studied for being ordained as a Rabbi, the liberals don't have to learn 5 percent of what orthodox Rabbis require.

In other words - any one can be a 'liberal rabbi'.

One doesn't have to be Jewish at all to see what is wrong with this 'picture'.

Actually, when you come to think about it, if it weren't for a homosexual, many -- if not all -- Jews born in Britain just before and after the war would probably not be alive today. His name was Alan Turing and he cracked the Nazis' Enigma code.

When he cracked the enigma code did he say 'oh ducky, I think i've cracked it' - then leap and skip around the room?
Sorry i'm only kidding..

No surprise that you write in the Guardian, that bastion of all things trendy and lefty, including the advocating of homosexuality as "normal".

Well I am sorry to have to tell you it is NOT normal, it is Abnormal, and for a "rabbi", (however liberal), to be advocating this cause is perverse.

It states clearly in Leviticus Chapter 18 verse 22 " 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

If you want to be "considered" Jewish, this is the rule that we must abide by. There is no choice in the matter - it is crystal clear.

If you do not want to be considered Jewish then the "rules" do not apply and you can do what you like - in the privacy of your own home, but NOT in a public place.

Judaism and homosexuality are NOT compatible.

Please, please take up another cause.

Avraham.

But this isn't a religious publication? And not all Jewish people are religious.
And those that are have a range of different interpretations of Torah.

Only a disgusting homophobe would have a problem with what he terms "perversion". Actually, hasn't it been scientifically proven that homophobia indicates a certain level of latent homosexuality? Kol hakavod, rabbi. Yashar Ko'ach.
