Does this mean Miliband is disinvited?

Reports today suggest that an Israeli diplomat will be expelled for the abuse of British passports in the Dubai hit. David Miliband was due to attend today's reopening of the Israeli embassy, but timing is everything in this comedy, so he probably won't show.
What will show is the righteous outrage of those reading out the script handed out by Danny Ayalon. Now would be a good time for them to keep schtum. There's a saying in Hebrew: Hasayag le'chochmah, shtikah. They should look that one up.

The UK's Intelligence Service never uses false passports to defeat enemies bent on its destruction, does it ...

Wikipedia's a wonderful source that even my 12-year-old knows is unreliable. And Operation Mincemeat used a dead person's identity. Is that the message coming down from Danny "the wise" Ayalon?

Memo to David Milliband:

Better close down the SAS. Covert operations against your enemies in the middle of a war?

Tsk tsk ....

Thank you Jonathan for the link - real Boys' Own stuff.

Yes, to be consistent the UK government should certainly have expelled a diplomat from the country responsible for faking the passports. Oh, that would be the UK, wouldn't it.

Who was the UK ambassador to the UK at the time?

I wish Jonathan would make it harder for us, Ben. It's so easy to show him and the crib sheet writers up with a few facts.

One MI6 officer paid for his divorce by pocketing the expenses of a fictitious agent whose fake intelligence had been taken from the pages of the Economist. Another senior officer sold false passports to Middle Eastern businessmen and possibly drug traffickers, and diverted taxpayers' money intended for defectors and informants - up to £400,000 - into his offshore bank account. 'Agent J' was allowed to retire on a full pension with no police investigation or prosecution because 'he knew where the bodies were buried'. The scandal was uncovered by the US authorities, who were investigating drugs in the Caribbean and came across an offshore bank account opened with a British passport issued in a false name. Senior MI6 officers are allowed to open new bank accounts and transfer cash.

But he got caught, Jonathan, just like the Israelis. And he was selling his own country's passports, not cloning a friendly state's. Do try harder, please.

It is hilarious to watch you twist and turn in order to vilify Israel - you fool no-one

If it's wrong to clone passports then it doesn't matter who clones them!

Just as it's hilarious watching you scramble to justify everything the Israelis do -- even if it's against your own country. I wonder whether you identify with MK Arye Eldad of the far-right National Union Party who said that the British were "worse than dogs. At least dogs are loyal".
Indeed it is wrong to fake/clone passports especially by using passports of extant people. But friendly states don't tend to urinate on friends' lawns, and when they do and get found out they pay the price. Sayag le'shetika, chochmah. Do you know what it is yet?

Please point out where I "justify" it

And then admit that you misrepresent me

To assist those here who have problems readiing English: I am saying the UK Intelligence Services do precisely the same thing

And by saying that, Jonathan, you are justifying what the Israelis did. But if you aren't....

Here's what you wrote: Better close down the SAS. Covert operations against your enemies in the middle of a war?

And: The UK's Intelligence Service never uses false passports to defeat enemies bent on its destruction, does it ...

What apology? I didn't apologise. You were justifying Israel's actions. You are just doing your job. It's a tough one, I know, but someone's gotta do it, eh?

If, Israel did the deed what a fantastic job they did!
I am quite happy to justify it - for the greater good.
If, Israel did the deed their operatives can hardly travel around on Israeli passports can they?
Perhaps moshetzarfati2 thinks they should have used Israeli passports, arrived at the airport and announced themselves "shalom, anachnu Mossad" - that would have got them a long way in the espionage game!
It's time to get real and stop all these crocodile tears!
What was the Hamas terrorist doing in Dubai?, no, he was not there for a holiday, he was there to negotiate with the Iranians for the supply of the next stage of longer range missiles for Hamas to bombard the civilians of Israel with.
If, Israel had anything to do with the hit - kol hacavod- it was for the greater good.

Israel used to be clever, Jon, like by using dead people's passports, not those of extant immigrants.
