Di kfar - enough already? Not just yet. I’m still enjoying the hot heir

Two days on, and I’m not quite ready to stop my media intake of the newly engaged William and Kate. I’m not getting my information from any Israeli newspapers – and that’s precisely the point. Here in Israel, there’s no such thing as front page tittle-tattle about local celebrities. The news is always about politics or political figures. The best we got today was a story about Bibi Netanyahu’s son holidaying privately in America with a state-funded bodyguard. Wow. That's sure to provide endless fascination for the masses.

Just for now, I’d rather speculate over whether William and Kate will get married next spring or summer, in St. Paul’s or Westminster, than whether Bibi will extend the settlement freeze, or Iran will have the bomb by the end of this year or early next.

So here’s my two shekels’ worth about W and K: isn’t it a bit spooky for her to be wearing Di’s engagement ring? On the other hand, it’ll certainly be an in your face reminder of Diana for the rest of the family. And should we read anything into William’s step-mother Camilla calling the engagement “wicked”?

Anyway, have to go now; there's a Sky news engagement special coming up.

A soldier is allowed to go abroad during his leave with permission, which he had. The issue is the bodyguard when he was on a private trip.

Phew... thank G-d for a break for a from all these bloggers discussing Israeli politics.

Let's get back to what the JC is loved for - "front page tittle-tattle about local celebrities".

Do you think the chief Rabbi will be invited to the do?

Who do you think the caterer will be?

And can we come up with a good enough Jewish connection to make sure the happy couple are on the front page of tomorrow's JC?
