Christians flee central Iraq in thousands, UN reports

The situation is terrible in Iraq. Having already booted out their Jewish population in the 30s and 40s they're now turning their attention towards Christians. First the Saturday crowd then the Sunday crowd!

But fear not - I hear the Methodist Church will be launching a full boycott against Iraq in protest about this!

It can't be Muslims, theirs is the religion of peace

It's the Islamists. I wouldn't be surprised if the money trail leads back to Tehran either (who were funding suicide bombings in Basra when the Brits were there). Having tried since 2003 to stoke civil war between the Shias and the Sunnis, failed utterly, and are now (in typical cowardly fashion) going after the minority groups that have no-one to defend them, not even the Iraqi government is concerned. And nor are the Yanks, it seems.

The good news is that I'm assured by Jenny Tongue and others that once the Islamic Republic of Palestine is created (in Milton Keynes, apparently) and given full UN recognition the persecution of Christians and other minorities in all Arab countries will stop. After all, blowing up churches and murdering women and children is just their way of expressing their frustration about the lack of progress in that regard.

Oh but wait - then there's Kashmir. Yes, we'd better solve that one too. And hand Afghanistan back to the Taleban, and stop printing nasty things about beardy extremists in the Daily Mail. And stop drawing nasty cartoons of the Prophet. And stop talking about it.

And when the men from Hamas come marching down your street in Hamstead Heath and calling your house a "settlement", best keep schtum. We wouldn't want to upset them!
