armchair, you never respond to any posts or points of substance.

You are a propagandist who likes to spew hatred for the Jewish state, without ever feeling the need to defend your position when you are challenged with facts.

That the JC blog entertains your relentless demonisation of the Jewish state is ridiculous.

Israel, which has been charged with using white phosphorus in Lebanon, says it is not using white phosphorus in its war against Hamas in Gaza, now in its 18th day.
"The IDF [Israeli Defense Forces] acts only in accordance with what is permitted by international law and does not use white phosphorus," IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi told Israel's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Tuesday in response to a query.

The army did not deny using white phosphorus; a military source says it was used to create a cloud cover intended to make it harder for Hamas militants to see IDF soldiers.

GENEVA — The international Red Cross said Tuesday that Israel has fired white phosphorus shells in its offensive in the Gaza Strip, but has no evidence to suggest the incendiary agent is being used improperly or illegally.

Try to find another blood libel, Wheelchair! This one is a bit used up.

This is all "old news" anyway, so what is the pouint of this blog?

Israel used White Phosphorus against HUMUS targets in Gaza during Operation Cast Lead in January 2009. This violated NO international laws or conventions.

Just so you know, White Phosphorus (WP), known as Willy Pete, is used for signaling, screening, and incendiary purposes it is NOT some demonic weapon

White Phosphorus can be used to destroy the enemy's equipment or to limit his vision. It is used against vehicles, petroleum, oils and lubricants (POL) and ammunition storage areas, and enemy observers. WP can be used as an aid in target location and navigation. It is usually dispersed by explosive munitions. It can be fired with fuze time to obtain an airburst.

White phosphorus was used most often during World War II in military formulations for smoke screens, marker shells, incendiaries, hand grenades, smoke markers, colored flares, and tracer bullets.

US forces found WP to be useful in the Battle of Fallujah.

And, for wheelchair-quarterdicks information White phosphorus is not banned by any treaty to which the United States or the UK is a signatory.
So stick that in you pipe and smoke, (your white phosphorous) it !!.

In other words it's "a big SO WHAT!"

After weeks of denying that it used white phosphorus in the heavily populated Gaza Strip, Israel finally admitted yesterday that the weapon was deployed in its offensive.

The incident being investigated is believed to be the firing of white phosphorous shells at a UN school in Beit Lahiya on January 17. (Mohammed Abed/AFP) The army's use of white phosphorus - which makes a distinctive shellburst of dozens of smoke trails - was reported first by The Times on January 5, when it was strenuously denied by the army. Now, in the face of mounting evidence and international outcry, Israel has been forced to backtrack on that initial denial. "Yes, phosphorus was used but not in any illegal manner," Yigal Palmor, a Foreign Ministry spokesman, told The Times
