From Greater Manchester Police comes news of the world's most perfectly named brothers:

Two men have been charged in
connection with an attack in Whitefield that has left a man in hospital.

Ashley Hoolighan (born
22/10/1985) and Scott Hoolighan (born 16/03/1984) both of Parr Lane, Unsworth,
have been charged with section 18 assault (causing grievous bodily harm with
intent).

The were due to
appear at Bury Magistrates' Court on Friday 25 June 2010.

At about 8pm on Wednesday 23 June 2010, police
were called to Bury New Road, Whitefield, following reports of fighting about
100 yards from a pub.

Officers attended and discovered that a man had been
attacked.

The 38-year-old
man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury. He has since been operated
on and remains there in a serious but stable condition.

A third man, aged 22, arrested on suspicion of
assault has been bailed until 15 July 2010, pending further inquiries.
