Belusconi after meeting with Abu Mazan had this to say to a journalist when asked to offer his opionion on the Israeli offensive on Gaza:

“Come è stato giusto piangere le vittime della Shoah così è giusto manifestare dolore per quanto che è successo a Gaza. Sempre, quando alla pace si sostituisce la guerra, alla ragionevolezza si sostituisce la violenza, viene meno l’umanità ed il rapporto tra gli uomini”.

Does he talk sense at last?

Much as I love the Italian language, even when it is spoken by ageing sex fiends, a translation might be in order.

Translated:
'As it was correct to cry for the victims of the Shoah so it is correct (cosi e giusto) to show pain for what happened in Gaza. Always, when instead of peace you substitute war, you replace violence with reason, you get less humanity and talk between men'

Which kind of contradicts what he said earlier in the Knesset. But then it is Berlusconi, I s'pose.
