BBC Journalist Forced to Change Story by Well-Funded Antizionist Lobby

The background to this story is here:

http://www.hurryupharry.org/2009/12/19/jew-ish/

This email shows the pressure that was applied to the journalist to change the true story. This true sentence for example was removed: "Upon revealing his name there are boos and shouts of "Jewish!" Anti-racism campaigners called it "chilling". "

Next time someone tells you about the (mythical) power of the "Zionist lobby", just tell them about this - which shows the BBC capitulating to the Antizionist lobby ....

"Thank you for your feedback to BBC News Online.
The background to the story about which you have complained is that the meeting at SOAS was highlighted to one of our journalists who was sent a video of the “incident”, which was also reported on Mr Hoffman’s blog.
The journalist contacted the Board of Deputies of British Jews who confirmed that they were aware of what had happened…indeed there had been a report in the Jewish Chronicle.
He also contacted the Zionist Federation and SOAS for comments. The SOAS press office confirmed that they were aware of the allegations of what had happened in the meeting.
The reporter also contact the SOAS Palestine Society, informing them of the accusations and emailing them links to Mr Hoffman’s blog and the video. The society told the reporter they could not comment.
After publication it quickly became clear that there was more to what had happened in the meeting than was apparent from the video and Mr Hoffman’s allegations. As soon as that became clear the story was amended to reflect the differing views of those who had been at the meeting.
It is regrettable that the original story did not reflect a wider range of views and the journalist concerned has been made well aware of the requirement to do so in the future.
Yours Sincerely

The antizionist Jews at the meeting said it was not antisemitic.... so the BBC duly removed the references to the antisemitic jeering at me.

Incredible .... Peter Oborne, are you reading this?

Anti-Zionist jeering -- indeed there was. But there was no antisemitic jeering. Still, carry on going to these meetings, Mr Hoffman. You give these goons a huge amount of undeserved publicity and you get to hear your own voice.

And perhaps the non-Zionist Jews are right this time. They really ought to be thanking you for helping their cause.

Awww, Jonny, you be so predictable. When he has no answers, folks, he always resorts to abuse. That's why the anti-Zionists love him so much.

Here we go again!
Gordon Bennett or Bennet, the blogger that can't spell his own name!
So obviously a Troll - along with his mates:-
-Moshe is a fatty too
and
-Curse your G-d (iainlrabbak)
For those Jews that need reminding, todays "anti-zionism is simply the trendy,pc, sandal wearing, climate change advocating Guardian readers "new" word for anti-semitism.
It is an excuse for one and the same thing, anti-zionism is most definately the same as anti-semitism.
Any Jew who thinks otherwise is being naive in the extreme and falling for the "leftist" propoganda .
Get real readers!"

I see the trolls' troll, Jon, has been recruited to the jeerers' cause with his usual cut-and-paste abuse. Shame he has no idea about Judaism and Israel that he doesn't recognise the name Tzarfati as being "of France".

you gotta love how he brings up people that are not even involved in the discussion. The Trolls troll, i like that... Does he live under a bridge that itself lies under a bridge?

Pity they don't tell this to Jeremy Bowen on a regular basis.

Did the BBC even get the bit about a convicted anti-Jewish hate-monger addressing the SOAS? If he'd been a convicted "Islamophobe" they'd have banged on about it for days.

I'm really pleased to see that Trevor Asserson has a report out analysing Bowen's egregious bias during Cast Lead. I made a formal complaint to the BBC over "Bowen's Diary". I never received a reply. They're out of control.
And it looks like Katya Adler ("Born in London to German parents" - is there something she's omitted here?) is going down the propaganda path.
