The militant group, Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), which is loyal to the Islamist Hamas movement, said that Abu Rook is a member of the group and he was in the area on a special mission.

I love the euphemism "special mission".

This incident shows that HAMAS is trying to act by proxy, not directly, but encourages external group that are faithful to it to make provocations and take risks. This way, they believe Israel will be fooled and will not react by striking HAMAS targets...
Bad news: it didn't work!

"De Facto ceasefire", is this the kind of "ceasefire" in the Haaretz report?

The kind of "ceasefire" that uses Iranian supplied IED's along the border fence and the latest Iranian supplied Kornet anti-tank rockets.
Must be an Arabic word that "de-facto ceasefire"

This "de facto" expression is used by HAMAS, and Haaretz just reports it.
The only "de facto" here is that Israel is attacked again on a daily basis, which can easily trigger another Cast Lead.
The HAMAS understands it is not yet his interest to do it. But the HAMAS is a terrorist organisation and it must terrorise to justify its 'reputation'.
