Did you or your parents or someone you know escape from Lithuania via Japan having received a transit visa from the Japanese Consul in Kovno - Chiune (Sempo) Sugihara.?
Were any of your relations boys of the Mir Yeshiva who ended up in Shanghai??
Have you or they ever returned to Japan?
This October I will be taking a kosher tour to Japan and we will be visiting Kobe and spending a Shabbat there. We will also visit the village of Yoatsu which was Sugihara’s home town and where there is a memorial to him.

Is it really so long since I posted? Japan was amazing and Gloria Deutsch wrote it up in the Jerusalem Post http://www.jpost.com/Magazine/Lifestyle/Article.aspx?id=199712 and in 2011 by popular request I took a group to Ecuador and the galapagos.
