A rabbinic view of renting to non-Jews

Rabbi Yuval Sherlo, of the Orthodox Tzohar movement of rabbis, has written in Ma'ayanei Ha'yeshua, an opinion sheet distributed among national religious synagogues in Israel, condemning those rabbis who issued an halachic ruling against renting to non-Jews.
It has appeared in Ynet, and here are a few lines in translation.
"We cannot have Jewish rule/sovereignty without looking after the stranger who lives among us in the areas of housing and employment...From the moment it was set up, Israel has been responsible not only for the Jews in it, but for the non-Jews too...As human beings, they have a right to employment and to a roof over their heads."
"We need to act to increase the Jewish population of the Galil and Negev but not by prohibiting rent to non-Jews or by a hurtful campaign. We need to do so by helping the stranger in our midst, and by increasing the Jewish population there."
Very reasonable views.

Tspam true to his usual slimy, misleading form. He's not complimenting Rabbi Sherlo on his stand; he's using him as a reflector, to denigrate and vilify "those rabbis who issued an halachic ruling against renting to non-Jews."

Interesting to note that according to the press (in Israel, an unreliable and biased source), the rabbis who say that one shouldn't rent houses to Arabs are Sephardim, i.e. people who grew up amongst Arabs in Arab countries, and know them far better than "us" Ashkenazim.

I do't know about Arabs, but for sure I wouldn't rent a house to tspam.

Avraham, I am sorry and disappointed to say you are wrong. I am even more sorry that you misunderstood that I was being full of praise for Rabbi Sherlo when I wrote at the end of the piece that his were "very reasonable views". That's a yashar koach to him. Chapeau. And he is very brave to publish his views in Ma'ayanei Ha'yeshua.
I will go further. I believe his movement, Tzohar, is at the forefront of making Judaism more accessible and less off-putting for secular Israelis. He and his colleagues have spearheaded attempts to make the whole process of getting married more user-friendly. As you are no doubt aware, going through the rabbinate can be somewhat traumatic for couples and tzohar has sought to make the process less impersonal and more human.
Just as a point of order, I think the Bnei Brak rabbis who echoed the Safed rabbi's views are Ashkenazi.
But what do you think of what Rabbi Sherlo said?

From the mouth of Yonit:

"And mixed up little shits like you know nothing about behaving like a human being."

"You really are a vile little waste of oxygen, aren't you?"

- a really civilised and cultured young lady, our 4-year IDF server (so she claims), and amateur atheist, isn't she?

Hell's teeth, it's brass monkeys out there. Yoni1 and Avraham, that really isn't a nice way to speak to and of brother Jews, is it? Please try and be respectful and polite even if you do not agree with each other.

It's not Avraham Reiss who writes, it's "Ibrahim al-Rais" the famous Hamas propaganda leader. He's here to give a bad name to Israel by supporting it with wrong arguments.
