Support does not give right to criticise
By Samuel Hayek, November 18, 2010

http://www.thejc.com/news/uk-news/41425/support-does-not-give-right-crit...

This is an excellent article by Samuel Hayek and is in stark contrast to the reported views and front page JC newspaper article by Simon Rocker reporting the statements attributed to Mick Davis of the UJIA.

Once again the UK Jewish Community is in disaray with no clear leadership, our enemies in the media must be lapping this up, Ben White, George Galloway, Jenny Tonge, Lauren Booth etc must be laughing their heads off this morning.

All that Mr Davis has achieved is to make the job of pro-Israel advocates harder by giving support to the creeping leftist de-legitimisation and BDS supporters, unfortunately an increasing number of whom are misguided Jews.

The fact that one has wealth and access to the media does not give one the right to set one's self up to be a Political commentator and critic of an elected government and it's Prime Minister, to do that one should be a citizen of the Country and vote in it's elections.

The "job " of disapora Jewry should be to be a supporter NOT a critic - we surely have enough "critics" out there without adding self-defeating Jewish critics to the number.

Why don't you all join Mr Hayek and work for the trees at the Jewish National Front-Kooks-Kahanists-Liebermanis.

Some British Jews' attitude to Israel seems to be "We give you our money, so we have the right to tell you what to do, so that we no longer feel uneasy at the Reform Club".

This is what happens when philanthropists are allowed to make policy.....

I am so glad that Israel listens to it's voters and not it's donors.

It's the way it should be.

Indeed, Jonathan. You must resign and go on aliyah so as to be among those voters.

I'll use the money I would have spent at Ahava and buy him a ticket.

Who's attacking whom, Amber? He gets what he deserves. And now he's a no one, having been reduced to his normal size by Pro-Zion (and that's only phase 1).

What I liked best about the Prozion's aims are:

"Through our affiliation and close ties with the Zionist Federation in the UK and also Arzenu the World Progressive Zionist Organisation we gain a voice in Israel putting our views forward in campaigns such as civil marriage, equal funding for progressive communities and conversion issues."

Surely they're not supporting Lieberman? That's part of Yisrael Beitenu's manifesto.

Who'd have thought it.

Lieberman is not supporting civil marriage, equal funding for progressive communities and conversion issues. He's sold out his voters to the Orthodox. All that's left is his fascism.

Kahina
At the last World Zionist Congress Meretz formed an alliance with Prozion, Mercaz and Avodah with the result that it was the largest faction or Brit at the 36th WZC this summer in Jerusalem. You may have missed it but I was there as a member of the delegation from the World Union of Meretz with representation from about 20 different countries all over the globe.
When the vote went against the right wing and the representatives of the Settlers, being such good Zionists, they disrupted the Congress by coming to the Bima and singing Hatikvah as if they have a monopoly on Zionism. They did not realise that the matter was then referred to the appropriate committee which passed the resolution from our Brit. Ah well, I suppose that you guys can't win them all, even when resorting to underhanded, anti-democratic behaviour.
