Favourites Faithfold B made it two out of two with a double from Richard Winton plus one apiece Leor Harel and Ben Loftus easing them past third division Catford.

Joel Berwitz fired a consolation for the Cats.

Faithfold assistant-manager Ben Lewis told JC Sport: "It was a great second half performance after moving things around a bit and using the whole squad available on the day."

Catford joint-manager Adam Lewis told JC Sport: "On the balance of play, Faithfold were worthy winners, although we performed superbly in the first half, with Faithfold unable to even get out of their half for the first 10 minutes.

"We missed two golden opportunities which would have seen us deservedly 2-0 up, but thereafter Faithfold came back at us very strongly. Still, we restricted them largely to shots from distance and were worthy of going into half time at 0-0.

"The first goal was always going to be vital an unfortunately an early lapse of concentration gave Faithfold the lead and, with a wealth of quality players, they pushed on from there.

"Despite them scoring 4-1, we could still have had goals and the game was one we might have got something from on another day.

"The only blot on the game was a series of poor decisions from the ref. We could - and should - have had a penalty and a shocking two-footed challenge from behind on Yonni Bord went without even a yellow card.

"Still, with Jewventus losing today we're well up for next week with the knowledge a win next week should almost certainly see us go through."
